Since the end of the last century, the empirical evidence that the natural limits to growth were being overstepped (García, 2004) supposed an increase in environmental awareness and led to a search for answers of different kinds. Most of these answers are part of the neoliberal politics that reconcile economic development with environmental sustainability. One of these solutions is the creation of protected areas. In this paper we analyse, firstly, the growth of protected areas in Europe and how we should perceive that growth. Saistvārdi ir svarīgas savienošanas ierīces, kas veicina ideju loģisku sakārtošanu tekstos un rindkopās, un emuāros par komrcdarbību saskaņotības saglabāšana ir tikpat svarīga kā jebkuros citos tekstos. Darba mērķis ir izanalizēt saistvārdu lietošanu piecu visvērtīgāko 2018. gada zīmolu (Amazon, Apple, Google, Microsoft un Facebook) rakstos un ierakstos par komercdarbību. Lai sasniegtu šo mērķi, kā pētniecības metode tika izvēlēta diskursa analīze. Saistvārdi tika noteikti un analizēti, un analīzes rezultāti liecina, ka emuāros par komercdarbību visbiežāk sastopamā saistvārdu kategorija ir pievienošanas / salīdzināšanas kategorija, un visbiežāk izmantotais saist vārds ir arī.
Media’s portrayal of CAM: Exploring 40 years of narratives and meanings in public discourse

The media are a key element in being able to assess how the climate of public opinion regarding Complementary and Alternative Medicines (CAM) has evolved over the years. The aim of this study is to explore the variation of the media representations along 40 years (1979–2018) in Spanish newspapers to assess if the press has contributed to legitimise, delegitimise or maintain the status quo of these therapies. From quantitative and qualitative approaches, we evaluate the media attention, the narratives, linguistic terms and tone used, and the relations between them. A methodological approach to exploring the rhythm of classroom discourse in a cumulative frame in science teaching

The purpose of this study was to characterise the nature and purpose of different types of classroom discourse and to explore how the rhythm of classroom discourse provides a cumulative frame for the teaching of science. The overall data consisted of a teaching sequence of eight lessons on the moment of force as taught to physiotherapy students at a Finnish University of Applied Sciences. Our in-depth multiple timescale analysis of two episodes illustrated in this study shows examples how cumulation was instantiated by the different types of classroom discourse. The methodology and findings of this study have implications both for teacher education and further research. peerReviewed
