Die quartaren Ephedriniumsalze 1–5 sowie die bekannten Kronenether 6 und 7 werden als Leitsalze bei der Elektroreduktion von Acetophenon eingesetzt. Meet at the border: Assembly of the water-soluble cobalt tetrakis(N-methylpyridinium-4-yl)porphyrin [CoTMPyP]4+ at soft interfaces is enhanced and stabilized by its interfacial interaction with the lipophilic anion (C6F5)4B−. The supramolecular structure thus formed (see picture) provides excellent catalytic activity in the four-electron reduction of oxygen.

This work is aimed at reviewing the chemical literature dealing with thermodynamic aspects of the weak complex formation (species with log K values less than about 3) between alkali and alkaline earth metal ions with low molecular weight inorganic and organic ligands in aqueous solution. The following ligands (up to hexavalent anions) were examined in detail: (i) hydroxide, chloride, sulfate, carbonate and phosphate as inorganic, and (ii) carboxylates, amines, amino acids, complexones and nucleotides as organic ligands. The intermolecular interactions in a hybrid electrolyte based on various compositions of the ionic liquid N-methyl-N-propyl pyrrolidinium bis-fluorosulfonylimide (C3mpyrFSI), LiFSI salt and an ether-based additive, 1,2-dimethoxy ethane (DME), have been investigated using the HOESY (Heteronuclear Overhauser Effect SpectroscopY) NMR experiment. Purpose: Desmopressin may not be effective for nocturnal enuresis associated with polyuria and hypercalciuria. Nighttime hypercalciuria in an enuretic population from 5 centers and its correlation with nighttime polyuria were verified. Materials and Methods: A total of 450 enuretic patients (278 males, 172 females, mean age 9.7 years) were evaluated with 72-hour micturition charts, urinalysis, serum creatinine and osmolarity, diurnal and nocturnal electrolytes with fractional Na+ and K+ urinary excretion, and nocturnal (4 a.m.) plasma vasopressin. Applicability of a Polymerized Ionic Liquid/Carbon Nanoparticle Composite Electrolyte to Reductive Cyclization and Dimerization Reactions

Abstract Recently, a reusable polymerized ionic liquid/carbon nanoparticle composite electrolyte was developed and effectively applied to a variety of oxidative transformations. The efficient recovery of the composite material and its application in subsequent electroorganic conversions without sacrificing yield adds to the sustainability of the protocol. Herein, we describe our efforts to expand the operational window of the composite electrolyte to include cathodically initiated processes occurring at potentials up to −2.6 V. The results indicate that the composite electrolyte is applicable to reductive processes, but the scope of transformations appears to be limited.
Abatement of 1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane in water by reduction at silver cathode and oxidation at boron doped diamond anode in micro reactors

The treatment of aqueous solutions of 1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane was performed by anodic oxidation at boron doped diamond (BDD), cathodic reduction at silver and coupled processes. Experiments were performed in macro and micro reactors with an interelectrode distance lower than 100. μm. Drastically higher abatements of the chlorinated compound and current efficiencies were obtained in microdevices that, furthermore, allowed to perform the electrolyses with low cell voltages in the absence of supporting electrolyte. Abstract The research and development of proton exchange membrane water electrolysis (PEMWE) is an upcoming and growing area due to a rising interest in hydrogen as an energy carrier. Operating conditions are harsher than in a fuel cell system, particularly because the potentials required for the oxygen evolution reaction are significantly higher. Abstract We have investigated the dynamics of poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) lithium-based salt electrolytes (PEO–LiBETI) using quasi-elastic neutron scattering (QENS). Measurements were carried out on the spectrometer NEAT (HMI, Berlin) above the melting temperature of PEO ( T m ≈65°C). The experimental data fully support the Molecular Dynamics (MD)-derived model of a heterogeneous dynamics in dilute PEO-salt electrolytes. In agreement with MD simulations carried out on PEO–LiPF 6 , we find evidences for the existence of two dynamic processes: (a) a faster process that is described in terms of the pure PEO dynamics and (b) a second component which we identify with the slower motion of the PEO …
