Learning the German language is one of the most critical challenges for refugee children in Germany. It is a prerequisite to allow communication and integration into the educational system. Kuršu kāpu iedzīvotāju dzīvesveids, ko noteikuši ģeogrāfiski, vēsturiski, politiski un sociāli ekonomiskie apstākļi, veidojis kursenieku valodas telpu un veicinājis bilingvismu vai trilingvismu. Darbs veltīts ar kursenieku materiālo kultūru saistītās leksikas izpētei, kura tematiskajā aspektā līdz šim pētīta salīdzinoši maz. Darbā aplūkota kursenieku tipiska mājokļa – tradicionālās zvejnieku sētas – arhitektūras elementu leksika, veidojot zvejnieku sētas etnolingvistisku portretu. Praktiskās klausīšanās prasmju trūkums skolēnu vidū ir viena no biežāk novērojamām problēmām angļu valodas stundās. Dažādi testēšanas elementi tiek izmantoti ar mērķi novērtēt klausīšanas prasmes, tomēr patiesais klausīšanās izpratnes process netiek veidots. Skolēni nezina iemeslus, kāpēc, klausoties, viņi pieļāva īpašas kļūdas, un tas noved pie tā, ka viņiem nav iespēju izstrādāt savas stratēģijas, kā izvairīties no kļūdu pieļaušanas. Stundās nav pietiekami daudz iespēju iesaistīties aktīvā klausīšanās procesā un nav iespējams praktiski izmantot piezīmes, kas gūtas, klausoties, un darba autore to uzskata par vienu no faktoriem, kas skolēniem rada grūtības klausīties. Luminiscences procesi ar erbiju aktivētā bārija lutēcija fluorīdā un to atkarība no temperatūras un erbija jonu koncentrācijas

Šajā darbā tiek apskatītas Ba4Lu3F17:Er3+ spektroskopiskās īpašības un to atkarības no temperatūras (8-300K) un aktivatoru jonu, Er3+, koncentrācijas (1, 10 un 40 mol%). Sintezētajiem pulverveida paraugiem tika izmērīti luminiscences un augšup-pārveidotās luminiscences spektri dažādās temperatūrās, ierosinot ar starojumu redzamajā un infrasarkanajā spektra diapazonā. Vietas jūtīgā spektroskopija ļauj noteikt, ka Er3+ atrodas dažādās pozīcijās Ba4Lu3F17 kristāliskajā struktūrā. Mainoties parauga temperatūrai, tiek novērotas izmaiņas luminiscences joslu platumā un intensitātē. Most of existing reinforced concrete structures suffer due to corrosion of steel and concrete degradation. In many cases existing structures reveal to be inadequate to absorb the expected seismic load and need to be rehabilitated according to the in force code. In the worst case some structures have not been designed to absorb horizontal actions. The rehabilitation process begins with the complete knowledge of its geometrical configuration and the evaluation of the vulnerability of the structure to seismic loads. The present thesis introduces several ultrasound-assisted digestion methods developed for the determination of toxic element concentrations in ash samples by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES). Ultrasound-assisted digestion is a quite new technique used for sample pre-treatment purposes, especially in difficult sample matrixes. Elements determined are As, Ba, Co, Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb, Sb, Sr, V, and Zn. Most of the elements determined exist at a trace or ultra trace level in ashes and most are potential risks in the environment or human body even at low concentrations. Background Species- and genetic diversity can change in parallel, resulting in a species-genetic diversity correlation (SGDC) and raising the question if the same drivers influence both biological levels of diversity. The SGDC can be either positive or negative, depending on whether the species diversity and the genetic diversity of the measured species respond in the same or opposite way to drivers. Abstract During 2001–2005, Mount Etna was characterized by intense eruptive activity involving the emission of petrologically different products from several vents, which involved at least two types of magma with different degrees of evolution. We investigated the ratios and abundances for noble-gas isotopes in fluid inclusions trapped in olivines and pyroxenes in the erupted products. We confirm that olivine has the most efficient crystalline structure for preserving the pristine composition of entrapped gases, while pyroxene can suffer diffusive He loss. Rare‐earth cyclobutadienyl sandwich complexes: Synthesis, structure and dynamic magnetic properties

The potassium cyclobutadienyl [K2{η4‐C4(SiMe3)4}] (1) reacts with MCl3(THF)3.5 (M=Y, Dy) to give the first rare‐earth cyclobutadienyl complexes, that is, the complex anions [M{η4‐C4(SiMe3)4}{η4‐C4(SiMe3)3‐κ‐(CH2SiMe2}]2−, (2M), as their dipotassium salts. The tuck‐in alkyl ligand in 2M is thought to form through deprotonation of the “squarocene” complexes [M{η4‐C4(SiMe3)4}2]− by 1. Complex 2Dy is a single‐molecule magnet, but with prominent quantum tunneling. An anisotropy barrier of 323(22) cm−1 was determined for 2Dy in an applied field of 1 kOe, and magnetic hysteresis loops were observed up to 7 K. nonPeerReviewed
Analysis of the effects of magnetic field on the induced stress in drilled plates

Abstract A drilled plate of ferromagnetic material suitably coupled by coils of enameled copper wire fed by a DC power supply to 30 V is considered in this paper. It is analyzed with finite element and later experiments are performed to validate the obtained results. After polishing the plate, two strain gauges for measuring the deformation along the x axis and along the z axis are installed. The values of strain are 5 μm/m in z direction and −2 μm/m in x direction. The experimental–numerical comparison shows that the laboratory results are lower than numerical, while signs and orders of magnitude are the same.
