Stereo and regioselectivity in the phenylation of cationic allylpalladium(II) α-diimine complexes by tetraphenylborate anion

1993

The reaction of the cationic complex [Pd(4-methoxy-1,3-η3-cyclohexenyl)(py-2-CHNC6H4OMe-4)]+ (1) with BPh4− in the presence of fumaronitrile yields trans-3-methoxy-6-phenylcyclohexene (2a) and trans-4-methoxy-3-phenylcyclohexene (2b), in ca. 1 : 1 molar ratio. The trans stereochemistry of these products implies that the phenylation of the allyl ligand involves prior transfer of a phenyl group from BPh4− to the metal, followed by reductive coupling of the organic moieties. In the reactions of [Pd(η3-1,1-R1,R2-C3H3)(NN′)]+ (3) [NN′ 4-MeOH4C6NCHCHNC6H4OMe-4; py-2-CHNR (R  C6H4OMe-4, Me, or CMe3), 2,2′-bipyridine (bipy); R1  H, R2  Ph, Me; R1  R2  Me; with BPh4− in the presence of …

Protein Flexibility and Preorganization in the Design of Enzymes. The Kemp Elimination Catalyzed by HG3.17

2015

A recently designed enzyme, HG3.17, obtained by directed evolution, has shown a catalytic activity close to natural enzymes. Hybrid QM/MM molecular dynamics simulations for the Kemp elimination in this new enzyme have provided a deep insight into the origin of its catalytic efficiency. In this case, we have first demonstrated the presence of different conformations with significantly different reactivity. The larger reactivity is related with a better electrostatic preorganization of the environment that creates a more favorable electrostatic potential for the reaction to proceed. In HG3.17, efforts to improve the catalytic properties must be focused in possible mutations increasing the pre…

Synthese von Giycopeptiden: Selektive C-terminale Deblockierung und Peptidkettenverlängerung an Glucosylserin-Derivaten

1983

Are Heme-Dependent Enzymes Always Using a Redox Mechanism? A Theoretical Study of the Kemp Elimination Catalyzed by a Promiscuous Aldoxime Dehydratase

2020

The design of biocatalysts is a goal to improve the rate, selectivity and environmental friendship of chemical processes in biotechnology. In this regard, the use of computational techniques has provided valuable assistance in the design of enzymes with remarkable catalytic activity. In this paper, hybrid QM/MM simulations have allowed getting an insight into the mechanism of a promiscuous aldoxime dehydratase (OxdA) for the Kemp elimination. We first demonstrate that, based on the use of linear response approximation (LRA) methods, the lowest energy electronic state of the benzisoxazole placed in the active sit of OxdA corresponds to a singlet state, being the triplet and the quintet state…

Reactions with a Metalloid Tin Cluster {Sn10[Si(SiMe3)3]4}(2-): Ligand Elimination versus Coordination Chemistry.

2015

Chemistry that uses metalloid tin clusters as a start- ing material is of fundamental interest towards understand- ing the reactivity of such compounds. Since we identified {Sn10(Si(SiMe3)3)4} 2 7 as an ideal candidate for such reactions, we present a further step in the understanding of metalloid tin cluster chemistry. In contrast to germanium chemistry, ligand elimination seems to be a major reaction channel, which leads to the more open metalloid cluster {Sn10(Si(SiMe3)3)3} 9, in which the Sn core is only shielded by three Si(SiMe3)3 ligands. Compound 9 is obtained through different routes and is crystallised together with two differ- ent countercations. Besides the structural charact…

Anionic Polymerization of Alkyl (Meth)acrylates Using Metal-Free Initiators:  Effect of Ion Pairing on Initiation Equilibria

1999

Metal-free anionic polymerizations of alkyl (meth)acrylates using tetrabutylammonium salts of diethylphenylmalonate, fluorene, and 9-ethylfluorene as initiators were performed in THF at 30 °C. A poor control of molecular weights, inconsistent initiator efficiencies, and broad or bimodal molecular weight distributions were obtained. The effect of counterion nature was studied from the polymerization of methyl methacrylate using the 1,1-diphenylhexyl anion with tetrabutylammonium, tetramethyldiethylguanidinium, and lithium as counterions under otherwise identical conditions. Metal-free initiators resulted in incomplete initiation which is attributed to the fact that the initiation is an equil…

Effect of ionic liquid organizing ability and amine structure on the rate and mechanism of base induced elimination of 1,1,1-tribromo-2,2-bis(phenyl-…

2006

Abstract The kinetics of the elimination reaction of 1,1,1-tribromo-2,2-bis(phenyl-substituted)ethanes into the corresponding 1,1-dibromo-2,2-bis(phenyl-substituted)ethenes induced by amines were studied in three room temperature ionic liquids ([BMIM][BF 4 ], [BMIM][PF 6 ], [BdMIM][BF 4 ]). In order to have information about reagent–ionic liquid interactions, the reaction was carried out over the temperature range (293.1–313.1 K). To study the effect of the amine on the rate and occurrence of the elimination reaction, several primary, secondary and tertiary amines with different structure (cyclic and acyclic), basicity and steric requirements were used. The data collected show that the reac…

Investigation about selective harmonic elimination in unbalanced multilevel inverters

2022

In this paper 5 and 7 levels cascaded H-bridges inverters are considered, feeding by unequal dc voltage sources. The effect of these unbalancing operation is examined concerning harmonic analysis and total harmonic distortion of the output voltages. The system of equations, obtained by the expansion in the Fourier series of phase output voltage, is solved by applying a method of graphic solution that allows obtaining the switching angles able to eliminate the lower order harmonics.
