Coronavirus 2019 pandemic lockdown in Italy lasted for 2 months, 1 week and 2 days. During this long period, one of the longest in Europe, the restrictions produced effects on people’s psychological well-being, with consequences that also continued after lockdown. The purpose of the study is to investigate these effects and how they changed in the general population over a period of time. This longitudinal study examined cross-lagged relations of self-concepts of ability and achievement emotions (i.e., enjoyment, boredom, anxiety) in two central school subjects (i.e., mathematics and literacy). Adolescents (N = 848) reported their achievement emotions and self-concepts of ability four times during Grades 6 and 7. The pattern of results was different for mathematics and literacy subjects. Student–teacher relationships are crucial for adolescents’ adjustment in the school context. The aim of the present study was to examine the role of teacher closeness in academic emotions and achievement among adolescents with and without learning difficulties during the first year in lower secondary school. Students’ learning difficulties (LDs) were identified based on tested reading and math skills. This essay describes a phenomenology of the body and his language, the emotions. The main purpose is to highlight their referential scope. Emotions enable us to comprehend individual aspects partecipating in our lifeworlds. This perspective challanges today's dominant culture, where emotions are understood as mere self-expressions. Seen as favourable reactions to meeting the other, emotions appaear to us as forms of love and produce knowledge by dilection for the other's inner world. A reflection on the emotions, particulary empathy, highlights their impotance for the moral education to a correct sensibility.
