Remarks on IEEE 802.11 DCF performance analysis

This letter presents a new approach to evaluate the throughput/delay performance of the 802.11 distributed coordination function (DCF). Our approach relies on elementary conditional probability arguments rather than bidimensional Markov chains (as proposed in previous models) and can be easily extended to account for backoff operation more general than DCF's one.

An offline partial evaluator for curry programs

Narrowing-driven partial evaluation is a powerful technique for the specialization of functional logic programs. In this paper, we describe the implementation of a narrowing-driven partial evaluator for Curry programs which follows the offline approach to ensuring termination. Although the new partial evaluator is less precise than previous (online) partial evaluators for Curry, it is much faster and, thus, allows the specialization of larger programs.
A risk evaluation framework for the best maintenance strategy: the case of a marine salt manufacture firm

Employees in female-dominated sectors are exposed to high workloads, emotional job demands, and role ambiguity, and often have insufficient resources to deal with these demands. This imbalance causes strain, threatening employees’ work ability. Background Torquetenovirus (TTV) viremia is emerging as a promising tool to assess functional immune competence, to predict posttransplant immune-related complications, and eventually to customize immunosuppression. Methods In this study, 327 blood samples were tested using two real-time PCR (rtPCR) assays both targeted to the untranslated region of the TTV genome. The first assay was an in-house rtPCR developed by our group, the second one was the recently marketed TTV R-GENE assay. Se describe el proceso de diseño y validación del instrumento de evaluación de la colegialidad docente en su fase de validación lógica (validación de constructo) mediante el juicio de expertos a través de una metodología mixta (cuantitativa y cualitativa). El instrumento, que forma parte del modelo de evaluación para la cohesión social (Jornet, 2012), ha sido diseñado y validado en España, y posteriormente se llevó a cabo el proceso de adaptación en México.
