Teachers' procedures when introducing algebraic expression in two Norwegian grade 8 classrooms

International audience; We investigate similarities and differences in two teachers’ way of introducing algebraic expressions by designed examples. One teacher moves from the specific to the general, and the other moves from the general to the specific. They both mediate the passage from the students’ real world and the school mathematics they know, to algebra.
Extracting (good) discourse examples from an oral specialised corpus of wine tasting interactions

International audience; This article outlines the semi-automated extraction of dictionary examples used in the compilation of a professional online dictionary of wine tasting. Named OenoLex Bourgogne, this dictionary was started to respond to the demand for a lexicographic information tool from the French wine industry of Burgundy, the Bureau Interprofessionnel des Vins de Bourgogne.

Finite element approximation for a div-rot system with mixed boundary conditions in non-smooth plane domains

The authors examine a finite element method for the numerical approximation of the solution to a div-rot system with mixed boundary conditions in bounded plane domains with piecewise smooth boundary. The solvability of the system both in an infinite and finite dimensional formulation is proved. Piecewise linear element fields with pointwise boundary conditions are used and their approximation properties are studied. Numerical examples indicating the accuracy of the method are given. peerReviewed
On FE-grid relocation in solving unilateral boundary value problems by FEM

We consider FE-grid optimization in elliptic unilateral boundary value problems. The criterion used in grid optimization is the total potential energy of the system. It is shown that minimization of this cost functional means a decrease of the discretization error or a better approximation of the unilateral boundary conditions, Design sensitivity analysis is given with respect to the movement of nodal points. Numerical results for the Dirichlet-Signorini problem for the Laplace equation and the plane elasticity problem with unilateral boundary conditions are given. International audience; The gambling industry has grown steadily in France, in particular since the new regulation of the online gambling in 2010. Seniors are commonly regarded as a high-risk population. Gaming indeed constitutes one of the most frequent leisure-time activities for seniors, who are an attractive target group for the gaming operators. If they have been much less described and analyzed than those of the younger generations, the seniors' playful practices can be as problematical. The text explains the difference between Marx?s concept of «oppression» and others as «coercion» by Durkheim or «domination» by Weber. The article then establishes, in a methodical way, the centrality of a passage from Capital, in which three different theories on «oppression» appear. It?s explained that two of them are rather a philosophical antinomy. The other, relative to the heteronomy of social time, can be completed by defining the heteronomy of social space, which gives it analytical virtuality. Some examples are given.
