Foreldres opplevelse av tillit og tap når barnet er til anestesi : Hvordan opplever foreldre det å være med på barnets første generelle anestesi ved …
2018
Masteroppgave spesialsykepleie ME519 – Universitetet i Agder 2018 Background There is a widespread practice that one parent is present during the induction of his or her child’s anesthesia. There are quantitative studies on how the parent’s presence impacts the induction, the impact on the child, and satisfaction with the parents. Literature within psychology states that there are bonds between parent and child. However, I found little on what the parents’ experiences are. Aim The intention of this study is to gain a better understanding of the parent’s experiences when they are following their child to, and attending, the induction of the general anesthesia. The research question What is t…
Disablistic Practices of Womanhood
2008
In this article I examine twenty autobiographical texts, which include women's personal experiences of disability and womanhood, and are written by disabled women. Both the texts and the personal experiences are treated as social products which can, through their discourses, offer insight into the socio‐cultural practices and norms of disability and womanhood. Employing a Foucauldian discursive approach, the analysis of the texts focuses on references to the discourses and practices of disability and womanhood that can be disablistic, i.e. oppressive, exclusive, and disabling, to disabled women. I argue that more than by the impairment in itself, the experiences of disabled women are shaped…

Forma mentis networks map how nursing and engineering students enhance their mindsets about innovation and health during professional growth
2020
Reconstructing a “forma mentis”, a mindset, and its changes, means capturing how individuals perceive topics, trends and experiences over time. To this aim we use forma mentis networks (FMNs), which enable direct, microscopic access to how individuals conceptually perceive knowledge and sentiment around a topic, providing richer contextual information than machine learning. FMNs build cognitive representations of stances through psycholinguistic tools like conceptual associations from semantic memory (free associations, i.e., one concept eliciting another) and affect norms (valence, i.e., how attractive a concept is). We test FMNs by investigating how Norwegian nursing and engineering stude…
Culinary tourism experiences in agri-tourism destinations and sustainable consumption-Understanding Italian tourists' motivations

Italy is known worldwide for the richness and variety of its gastronomy, and agri-tourism represents one of the most important places where culinary tourists can experience local food and beverages. By using a modified version of Kim and Eves&rsquo
Trade Openness and the Skill Premium An Inverted - UU Relation?
2016
Relying on linked employer–employee data from the German manufacturing sector in 1996–2010, I study the relation between the share of exporting establishments and the skill premium within narrowly defined industries. I document that the skill premium tends to be higher in industries with a larger share of exporting establishments. However, once unobserved industry heterogeneity is taken into account, the empirical evidence suggests an inverted-‘U’ relation between the share of exporting establishments and the skill premium.
The lived experience of aging in community-dwelling elders in Valencia, Spain: a phenomenological study.
1995
The purpose of this qualitative research study was to explore the lived experience of aging in community-dwelling elders in Valencia, Spain. A bilingual, bicultural endeavor, this research was a collaborative project conducted by nurse educators in New York City and Valencia. Parse's theory of human becoming guided the research, and van Kaam's phenomenological method of analysis was used to identify common elements and major themes of experience. Findings revealed the meaning of aging to be confirming triumphs through the forceful enlivening of bridled potency. These findings were conceptually consistent with Parse's major themes of meaning, rhythmicity, and cotranscendence. Implications f…
