Can drawing be taken as an exploratory key to study a symbolic building of Italian Rationalism? This paper will attempt to do so on the Casa a ville sovrapposte in Via dell'Annunciata in Milan, designed by Figini and Pollini in the 1930s. This famous building could constitute the reversal of the established paradigm according to which rationalist buildings are always detached from the urban context of which they are part. The use of drawing as a cognitive tool can help us decode the complex of different instances underlying the design of this emblematic building of the early 20th century in Italy, including the designers’ intention to integrate nature into living, almost in an ante litteram…

Full characterization of low-noise HEMTs using only noise figure measurements

A method for the complete characterization of microwave transistors in terms of noise, gain and scattering parameters using a computer-controlled noise figure measuring set-up only is presented. Selection of the optimum measuring conditions, all the steps of the experimental procedure, the data collecting and processing to derive all the parameters, are fully driven by an original (unpublished) software, even without the presence of an (unskilled) operator. Results are presented about the complete characterization of a series of ten pseudomorphicHEMTs in the 8-16 GHz range. The S-parameters are also compared with those measured by an ANA.

De la pertinence de l'adjectif "étrangère" en Didactique des Langues-Cultures

Les statuts traditionnellement attribués aux langues (ancienne/moderne, morte/vivante, maternelle/étrangère) continuent de remplir leurs fonctions : opposer, ordonner, identifier acteurs et spécialistes de chaque domaine. De leur côté, « Français Langue Etrangère » et « FLE », après des débuts difficiles, connaissent un succès tel que l’on oublie les idées qu’ils véhiculent et leur adaptation nécessaire à une diversité linguistique et culturelle croissante. Dans le contexte de l’apprentissage effectif et durable des langues-cultures du monde, impossible sans processus de familiarisation, la pertinence de l’adjectif « étrangère » est discutable.
