The Influence of the Lotus Flower Theme on the Perception Perception of Contemporary Urban Architecture

We live in the visual culture times, when images continuously and daily are transferring some information. A visual message is also an indispensable element of architecture, in the semantic layer as an aesthetic value, sometimes fulfilling a narrative function by means of a symbol, which is an international visual code. Most of the symbols, hidden in painting, sculpture, or architecture, are elements of nature. The article discusses examples of architecture whose form is based on a lotus flower. Unification of urban landscapes leads to a decrease in the value of aesthetic impressions; therefore, the unique architecture builds the unique identity of the place.

This study aims to elucidate how modern presentation technology is being used by Norwegian Christian congregations. It is based on a survey answered by 715 church leaders, and the practice revealed is discussed particularly on the basis of Eileen D. Crowley's framework for ‘liturgical media art’. The findings show that presentation technology is used to a significant extent, but mainly as practical, visual support for communication. The article argues that there is a potential to use technology for aesthetic purposes as well.

Edible mushrooms are a food source with interesting nutritional values. The chief objective of this research was to develop a consistent method for the quantitative ultra-trace analysis of Pt in mushrooms, which is complex because it cannot be readily quantified by common analytical procedures. International audience; The main objective of this study is to test the perception of the vowel /y/ among the Polish learners of FLE, as it does not exist in their natural vowel system. We defend the hypothesis that optimal perception conditions can make the identification and acquisition of new sounds more intelligible.; L'objectif principal de cette étude est de tester la perception de la voyelle /y/ chez des apprenants polonais du FLE, celle-ci n'existant pas, en effet, dans leur système vocalique naturel. The concept / institution of the Commissioner for Children ' 'Pare d'Òrfens' appears for the first time in Valencia with Law 12/2008 on Protection of Children and Adolescents. The purpose of this article is to inform readers of the existence of this concept / institution, analysing the regulatory development that has taken place and comparing its performance with other similar concepts/institutions existing in other Spanish regions, in order to critically assess the work done in recent years. To close the paper, we give a number of conclusions drawn after completing the research on this concept / institution, including several general recommendations in the form of constructive criticism.
How secondary school pupils bring their informal learning experiences into a Content and Language Integrated (CLIL) classroom

This article explores how students’ informal language learning experiences with English find their way into the formal context of content-based language teaching (CLIL). The analysis is focused on stretches of classroom talk in which native Finnish-speaking students draw on their expertise of English-language popular culture, and use their knowledge as a semiotic resource for producing various types of actions. Based on the data, it is argued that the organisation of peer group talk in the language classroom provides students with affordances for participation that are characteristically different from whole-class interaction.
