The Selection and Deselection of Technocratic Ministers in Democratic Spain

This chapter analyses the presence of non-political ministers in the Spanish cabinet in the democratic period since 1977, where one out of five ministers did not belong to the ruling party at the time of her appointment and one out of three can be considered as a non-political minister. By observing the selection and deselection of these individuals, it shows the cabinet dynamic behind the ministerial appointments and the differences between the more political type of ministers and those coming from outside political pathways. Tissue macrophages and inflammatory neutrophils represent important cells of the innate immune system responsible for various important tasks, i.e., elimination of pathogens and/or granuloma formation. Isolation of large numbers of primary phagocytes is vital for research with these cells. Within this protocol, we present a strategy for isolation of large numbers of inflammatory neutrophils and macrophages from murine skin that allows for follow-up in vivo or in vitro studies.

The chapter offers an overview of the main features of executive politics in democratic Spain. Adopting a core executive approach, it focuses on the actors and the processes defining the interaction and the power relationship between the prime minister, the ministers, and the cabinet at the national level. The main argument discusses the ‘presidentialization’ thesis in Spain. Instead, it proposes a more complex dynamics based in the exchange of power resources among actors within the government. Se trata brevemente del contenido de Format-Büchlein, impreso en Graz entre 1670 y 1677, que trata de los distintos formatos de los libros, aunque incluye otras muchas consideraciones sobre el arte de imprimir; comentando alguna de las ilustraciones de materia tipográfica incluidas en la obra. This study deals briefly with the content of Format-Büchlein, printed in Graz between 1670 and 1677, a work on different book formats, although it also includes many other considerations on the art of printing. I comment on some of the illustrations on typographical matters that are included in the work.

Technical secondary education in Togo and Cameroon : Research Note

International audience; This paper presents an evaluation of technical secondary education in Togo and Cameroon from the labor market perspective using tracer study data. Individuals face great difficulties in finding a job following training and the most common strategy used to avoid unemployment is to secure work in the informal sector. However, informal sector jobs provide low earnings and there appears to be a large discrepancy between an individual's expected earnings and actual earnings. One solution is to stimulate, and to enhance the role of, informal training through apprentice training centers.
