At the end of the 19th century, Spanish carnivals have been marked by the participation of the different tunas or also known as, estudiantinas. These groups achieved significant relevance in Galicia, especially in the city of Compostela, which, year after year, encouraged and supported the formation of groups of this nature to liven up the carnivals in the different Spanish cities. Coordinate compounding is a process which has been only sporadically considered in wordformation studies on Germanic and Romance languages. In this paper, we compare the situation in English with that in Spanish as far as formal structure and semantics are concerned. To this end, an operational definition of coordinate compounding is first provided, after which a semantic classification of coordinate compounds is developed. This paper aims at understanding the regional mobility of new entrants to university. The regional mobility is marginal. But, the impact of social and academic characteristics shows that self selection processes exist. The combine effects of fields and regions impacts highlight the role of availability of university program on student choice.

International audience; Cet article s' intéresse aux cheminements de formation dans l'enseignement supérieur et étudie plus particulièrement les deux années qui conduisent à l'obtention du Diplôme d'Études Universitaires Généralisées. Nous nous plaçons ici dans une logique qui consiste à supposer que l'université a pour unique ambition d'amener le plus grand nombre de bacheliers vers la validation du DEUG. Ceci repose sur l'idée que l'université finançant essentiellement sur deniers publics la formation des jeunes se doit d'allouer au mieux ces ressources.

Demographic change, new business formation and spatial concentration of population

This paper investigates the role of urbanization in the relation between population change and new business formation. The hypothesis of research is that population change significantly influences new business formation only in regions at lower urbanization. This hypothesis is based on the idea that local demand and growing population are significant determinants of new business formation only for rural regions. Using Italian data, we find evidence in support of this hypothesis. Moreover, we find that evidence of spatial dependence in the relation between population change, new business formation and urbanization.
