Topical Review: Functional Anatomy of Human Hippocampal Formation and Related Structures

Data on the internal organization, and neuronal connections of the human hippocampal formation and related structures of the limbic system are briefly reviewed. In the healthy brain, somatosensory, visual, and auditory input proceeds through neocortical core and belt fields to a variety of association areas, and from here the data is transported via long cortico-cortical pathways to the extended prefrontal association cortex. Tracts generated from this highest organizational level of the brain guide the data via the frontal belt (premotor cortex) to the frontal core (primary motor area). Wronskian representation of solutions of NLS equation, and seventh order rogue wave.

This work is a continuation of a recent paper in which we have constructed a multi-parametric family of the nonlinear Schrodinger equation in terms of wronskians. When we perform a special passage to the limit, we get a family of quasi-rational solutions expressed as a ratio of two determinants. We have already construct Peregrine breathers of orders N=4, 5, 6 in preceding works; we give here the Peregrine breather of order seven.

Large 256-Pixel X-ray Transition-Edge Sensor Arrays With Mo/TiW/Cu Trilayers

We describe the fabrication and electrical characterization of 256-pixel X-ray transition-edge sensor (TES) arrays intended for materials analysis applications. The processing is done on 6-in wafers, providing capabilities on a commercial scale. TES films were novel proximity coupled Mo/TiW/Cu trilayers, where the thin TiW layer in between aims to improve the stability of the devices by preventing unwanted effects such as Mo/Cu interdiffusion. Forte baisse de l'embauche des jeunes en Bourgogne

Réalisée en Bourgogne depuis vingt-cinq ans, l'enquête Insertion dans la vie active constitue un outil particulier et unique qui donne la possibilité de suivre l'évolution des conditions d'entrée des jeunes sur le marché du travail. Cette note présente les résultats de la dernière interrogation menée en février 2009, et donne un aperçu de la transition de l'école à l'emploi. En Bourgogne, 7 400 élèves et 4 800 apprentis âgés de 20 ans en moyenne, ont été interrogés sur leur situation professionnelle. Searches for heavy neutrinos from Z decays

We have searched for possible fourth family heavy neutrinos, pair produced in Z0 decays, in a sample of about 112 000 hadronic Z0 final states collected with the DELPHI detector. For all mixing matrix elements we exclude a new Dirac neutrino lighter than 44.5 GeV at a 95% confidence level, if the neutrino couples to the electron or muon family, and lighter than 44.0 GeV, if the neutrino couples to the tau family. Depending on the values of the mixing element and to which lepton family the neutrino couples, we obtain mass limits up to 46.2 GeV. For all mixing matrix elements we exclude a new Majorana neutrino lighter than 39.0 GeV, if it couples to the electron or the muon family, and lighte…

National audience; Cet article présente un système de reconnaissance de la structure logique de notices bibliographiques en vue de la conversion rétrospective de catalogues de bibliothèques. Le système est guidé par un modèle de structures de la classe des notices, construit sur la base de spécifications détaillées par la bibliothèque. Le modèle fait intervenir aussi bien des connaissances sur la macro-structure des notices que sur la micro-structure de leur contenu. Automatic Temporal Formatting of Multimedia Presentations Using Dynamic Petri Nets.

An efficient authoring tool would provide support for automatic temporal formatting and modeling of multimedia presentations. Automatic temporal formatting is a process of converting the given presentation specifications into a required temporal format. This paper presents an algorithm that can convert a temporal layout into a dynamic petri net (DPN )w hich can represent iterative and interactive presentation components effectively. A nonlinear oscillators network devoted to image processing

A contrast enhancement and image inverting tool using a lattice of uncoupled nonlinear oscillators is proposed. We show theoretically and numerically that the gray scale picture contrast is strongly enhanced even if this one is initially very small. An image inversion can be also obtained in real time with the same Cellular Nonlinear Network (CNN) without reconfiguration of the network. A possible electronic implementation of this CNN is finally discussed.
