Spēles naratīva analīze: “Half Life” franšīze

Pētījuma galvenais mērķis ir atklāt, kā stāstījumu tehnikas pielietotas video spēļu franšīzē Half-Life. Pētījumam izvēlētas četras franšīzes Half-Life un Half-Life 2 spēles. Teorētiskajā daļā tika apskatīts, kā stāstījumu jēdzieni ir pielāgojami video spēļu pētījumam. Izvēlēto video spēļu analīze parādīja, ka stāstījumu izteiksmes līdzekļi un struktūras var tikt pielietotas arī izvēlētajām video spēlēm, dažām no tām stingri neievērojot avotu teorētiskos ierobežojumus. Pētījuma rezultāti nodrošina plašāku video spēļu stāstījumu izpētes iespējas.

Quantum Motion of Chemisorbed Hydrogen on Ni Surfaces

1983

Quantum mechanical energy levels and wave functions have been calculated for the motion of chemisorbed hydrogen atoms on Ni surfaces. The results show considerable quantum effects for the adatom in both the ground and the excited states. The description of the adparticles as being delocalized along the surface offers a novel interpretation of several phenomena, in particular the vibrational excitations. Peer reviewed

Today, several pharmaceutic and non-pharmaceutic approaches exist to treat psychiatric and neurological diseases. Because of the lack of treatment procedures that are medication free and without severe side effects, transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) and aerobic exercise (AE) have been tested to explore the potential for initiating and modulating neuroplasticity in the human brain. In the paper we investigate a model for computing of Boolean functions - Ordered Binary Decision Diagrams (OBDDs), which is a restricted version of Branching Programs. AbstractIn this paper, we study the second-order Sobolev regularity of solutions to the parabolic p-Laplace equation. For any p-parabolic function u, we show that $$D(\left| Du\right| ^{\frac{p-2+s}{2}}Du)$$ D ( D u p - 2 + s 2 D u ) exists as a function and belongs to $$L^{2}_{\text {loc}}$$ L loc 2 with $$s>-1$$ s > - 1 and $$1<p<\infty $$ 1 < p < ∞ . Abstract Starting from consideration that urban intersections are sites with promise for safety and operational improvements, the paper describes the steps taken to develop a crash predictive model for estimating the safety performance of urban unsignalized intersections located in Palermo, Italy. Time-dependent Landauer—Büttiker formalism for superconducting junctions at arbitrary temperatures

We discuss an extension of our earlier work on the time-dependent Landauer– Büttiker formalism for noninteracting electronic transport. The formalism can without complication be extended to superconducting central regions since the Green’s functions in the Nambu representation satisfy the same equations of motion which, in turn, leads to the same closed expression for the equal-time lesser Green’s function, i.e., for the time-dependent reduced one-particle density matrix. We further write the finite-temperature frequency integrals in terms of known special functions thereby considerably speeding up the computation. Open-source QCD analysis of nuclear parton distribution functions at NLO and NNLO

We present new sets of nuclear parton distribution functions (nPDFs) at next-to-leading order (NLO) and next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO). Our analyses are based on deeply inelastic scattering data with charged-lepton and neutrino beams on nuclear targets. In addition, a set of proton baseline PDFs is fitted within the same framework with the same theoretical assumptions. The results of this global QCD analysis are compared to existing nPDF sets and to the fitted cross sections. Also, the uncertainties resulting from the limited constraining power of the included experimental data are presented.
