Consumer texture preferences: Effect of age, gender and previous experience

Four different strawberry candies with varying thickening agents (pectin, gelatin, starch, and gelatin + starch) were rated by three consumer age groups: teenagers (13–14 years), young adults (19–23 years) and the middle-aged (40–63 years) (n = 60 in each group). Age, gender, use frequencies and hedonic ratings often commercial candy types were collected as background information. Four preference groups were found by using preference mapping. The most important factor predicting preference of a sample were hedonic evaluations of commercial candies whose texture was similar to that of the test sample. Backgrounds and aims: Low concentrations of plasma HDL-C are associated with the development of atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases and type 2 diabetes. Here we aimed to explore the relationship between the in vivo fractional synthesis of triglycerides (fTG) in subcutaneous (s.q.) abdominal adipose tissue (AT), HDL-C concentrations and HDL particle size composition in non-diabetic humans. Sexual and gender minority (SGM) medical students and physicians are exposed to bias in professional contexts. One strategy for promoting SGM visibility and inclusion within medicine is the development of institutional OutLists, which are online, opt-in lists of SGM-identified individuals affiliated with an academic institution. We present the first quantitative evaluation of publicly accessible OutLists at medical institutions in the United States, Canada, and Europe. Nineteen OutLists were identified in the United States; no OutLists were identified in other countries.
