La ricchissima produzione di Giusppe Damiani Almeyda (Capua 1834 – Palermo 1911) comprende, tra le sue opere giovanili il Progetto per una chiesa cattedrale, presentato all’Esposizione di Belle Arti di Palermo del 1856. Il presente studio è il frutto dell'analisi delle fonti documentarie presenti nell'Archivio Damiani di Palermo, che hanno consentito l'analisi del manufatto architettonico e la ricostruzione congetturale del modello.

[EN] The main cause of flesh browning in 'Rojo Brillante' persimmon fruit is mechanical damage caused during harvesting and packing. Innovation and research on nondestructive techniques to detect this phenomenon in the packing lines are necessary because this type of alteration is often only seen when the final consumer peels the fruit. In this work, we have studied the application of hyperspectral imaging in the range of 450-1040 nm to detect mechanical damage without any external symptoms. These fungi infections produce enormous economic losses in mandarin production if early detection is not carried out. The effects of age and emotional valence on recognition memory: An ex-Gaussian components analysis

[EN] The aim of this work was to study the effects of valence and age on visual image recognition memory. The International Affective Picture System (IAPS) battery was used, and response time data were analyzed using analysis of variance, as well as an ex-Gaussian fit method. Older participants were slower and more variable in their reaction times. Response times were longer for negative valence pictures, however this was statistically significant only for young participants. This suggests that negative emotional valence has a strong effect on recognition memory in young but not in old participants.
