Interaction is always multimodal. Multimodality means that meanings are conveyed by using different semiotic resources, such as language, gestures, facial expressions, written text and pictures. Even though it is considered that also interpreted interaction is multimodal, this aspect of the interpreters’ work is often neglected in research and focus on how interpreters utilize multimodality in their work is called for. In this study one English-medium lecture that is interpreted into Finnish Sign Language is analyzed. The lecture’s duration is approximately one hour. De los resultados se desprende que el especialista, que interviene desde el inicio del proceso traductor, juega un papel destacado en la fase de comprension. La consulta al experto no solo se limita a cuestiones terminologicas, sino tambien a la comprension del genero textual, los destinatarios y la finalidad de los textos. La intervencion en la fase de traduccion es mas anecdotica, cobrando especial protagonismo en la fase de revision de las traducciones finales. Public Service Translation has for long been the ‘forgotten voice’ in PSI studies but it is arguably a valuable linguistic support for legal institutions and for training interpreters in the legal sector. Given that interpreters in the legal system in Italy often tend to ‘double-up’ as legal translators (to make a living) the line between the two is often hazy. Teaching audio‑visual translation at the “French Philology level 0” course: methods, contents, clues
 In the face of a sensible diminution of the number of high‑school graduates able to communicate in French well enough to follow the “classical” French Philology course, many Polish universities offer their students the possibility of studying “French Philology level 0”. One of the key skills developed by this course is translation, including basic audio‑visual translation competences. The paper shows some examples of translator training clues that have been worked out at the Opole University.
