La negoziazione dei significati nell’intervista sociolingustica: dinamiche interazionali e influenze contestuali nei dati dell’Atlante Linguistico de…

2020

In this article I discuss some interactional aspects regarding the relation between the participants in the sociolinguistic interview. In particular, I show how interviewers and interviewees work together in order to co-construct the (socio)linguistic data. In this perspective, I analyse the ways in which the participants make observable to each other their interactional roles through the interview. Moreover, I focus on the relation between the individuals taking part in the interview and the invisible, yet influential members of the research group. I show how the latter may affect the interactional moves of the former, but also how participants account for the research group’s role. The an…

Dynamic aphasia and the generation of language

2004

Severely reduced propositional speech in the context of intact nominal language skills (i.e., repetition, naming, comprehension, and reading) is the hallmark of dynamic aphasia (Luria, 1970). Recent evidence suggests there may be different types of dynamic aphasia as some patients do not produce any response on verbal generation tasks, whilst others are able to perform normally on verbal genera- tion tasks. For example, Robinson and colleagues (Robinson, Blair, & Cipolotti, 1998; Robinson, Shallice, & Cipolotti, 2004) reported two dynamic aphasics who failed to produce a verbal response when many verbal response options were activated by a stimulus, but not when a dominant response was avai…

Dynamics in the Field of Museums: Contemporary Challenges for Polish Museologists

2018

The aim of this text is to present and analyze the attitudes of Polish museologists towards the changes currently taking place in the field of museums. More specifically, it will focus on their opinions regarding the evolution of museums—from the traditional model, based on symbolic violence, to the contemporary model, which accents the subjectivity of the audience. Its conclusions, based on analyses of 26 qualitative interviews with employees of Polish museums, are as follows: the organizational changes taking place in Polish museums do not relieve museologists from bureaucratic work; the collections in museums distinguish them from other institutions of culture; there is a struggle …

Teachers’ Implicit Meaning Systems and Their Implications for Pedagogical Thinking and Practice: A Case Study from Finland

2016

ABSTRACTThis qualitative case study examines teachers’ implicit meaning systems built around their core beliefs on the malleability of human qualities. Previous research has demonstrated the influence of students’ implicit theories on motivation and achievement and has presented successful interventions for students. However, research on teachers’ implicit theories and, in particular, their actualization in natural environments is lacking. The data for this study include observations and stimulated recall interviews with two Finnish teachers whose opposing implicit theories were first indicated in 2000 by Carol Dweck . The results depict how these teachers’ implicit meaning systems influenc…

The pandemic crisis has accelerated the diffusion of learning environments characterized by the intensive use of technology. This novelty represents a transversal objective of the professionalization of the university teacher with a particular declination on the pedagogical-didactic-evaluation side as a strategic issue for the development of higher education. This paper presents the results of research conducted with 119 newly recruited university teachers and 20 Department Directors. The aim of the research was on the one hand to detect the perception of newly hired teachers related to their teaching metacognitive and evaluative skills with reference to distance learning to highlight specific characteristics that could have encouraged or hindered adaptation to this new condition. On the other hand through the qualitative research the aim has been to penetrate in depth the challenges posed by the digital revolution at University by carrying out 20 interviews with privileged witnesses who represent on the national scene agents of institutional change. The results showed a certain awareness of the need to integrate new ways of teaching to increase interest participation and enthusiasm for technology.Settore M-PED/03 - Didattica E Pedagogia Speciale
