Abstract Objective The objective was to assess the effectiveness of neural mobilization (NM) techniques in the management of musculoskeletal neck disorders with nerve-related symptoms (MND-NRS). Methods We conducted a systematic review with meta-analysis, using pain intensity, disability, perceived function, cervical range of motion, and mechanosensitivity as the main outcome measures. Results The systematic review included 22 studies (n = 978). More favorable outcomes were observed for NM on pain intensity compared with control interventions (standardized mean differences (SMDs) −0.92; 95% CI −1.66−0.18), but not compared with other treatments (OTs) (SMD 1.06; 95% CI −0.02 to 2.15). The present paper looks at the potential of the Adult Attachment Interview (AAI) and its underlying basis in attachment theory for use in psychotherapeutic work. We summarize the basic tenets of attachment theory, detail the content and structure of the AAI, provide instructions for conducting the AAI, and introduce the Main et al. (2002) coding system. We then report on associations between AAI-Attachment groups and psychosomatic diseases and, finally, demonstrate applications of the AAI in clinical work and research.

Transplantations have often been prescribed as a compensation measure to mitigate the impacts caused by coastal maritime works. Statistical classification and proportion estimation - an application to a macroinvertebrate image database

We apply and compare a random Bayes forest classifier and three traditional classification methods to a dataset of complex benthic macroinvertebrate images of known taxonomical identity. Since in biomonitoring changes in benthic macroinvertebrate taxa proportions correspond to changes in water quality, their correct estimation is pivotal.
