The social mediators: limits and challenges of a system

Following a study aimed at measuring the limits and challenges of the social mediation system, the authors put forward an examination in this article of the mutual expectations of the social mediator and its employer, the urban community. This sociological study is comprehensive: it uses the method of the individual interview and focus group. The analysis of the results is supported by contributions from Boltanski and Thévenot in order to compare the reference “worlds” of both types of actor. This work deals with the didactical use of geometrical-mechanical artefacts to acquire tangent concept in vygotskian perspective. We adopt Rabardel’s theory on instru-mental approach to distinguish artefacts and instruments specially to evince the history-to-education ontogenesis-phylogenesis process. Despite decades of research, the concurrent examination of both quantitative (i.e. perceived threat of job loss) and qualitative (i.e., perceived threat of losing some job features) job insecurity and the analysis of their different relationships with well-being at work have received relatively scarce attention. The concept / institution of the Commissioner for Children ' 'Pare d'Òrfens' appears for the first time in Valencia with Law 12/2008 on Protection of Children and Adolescents. The purpose of this article is to inform readers of the existence of this concept / institution, analysing the regulatory development that has taken place and comparing its performance with other similar concepts/institutions existing in other Spanish regions, in order to critically assess the work done in recent years. To close the paper, we give a number of conclusions drawn after completing the research on this concept / institution, including several general recommendations in the form of constructive criticism.

This paper describes a research program within Information and Communication Sciences (ISC). This program is based on the understanding of online socialization processes. Particularely, it is focused on rationalization issues for communities forms and rules online. Since the end of the years 2000, this rationalization for online communities is also known as Community Management. We formulate the hypothesis that community management policies spread to whole human activities on the web 2.0, and that community management policies rule the new knowledge mediations.
Rules of Engagement: Family Rules on Young Children’s Access to and Use of Technologies

This chapter reports on a study conducted in seven countries in which young children’s (aged under 8) digital practices in the home were examined. The study explored family practices with regard to access to and use of technologies, tracing the ways in which families managed risks and opportunities. Seventy families participated in the study, and interviews were undertaken with both parents and children, separately and together, in order to address the research aims.
