This paper investigates the international retirement migration from elderly northern Europeans into Spain and its influence on expansion of urban sprawl there. Key themes analyzed in this paper include the urban sprawl expansion during the Spanish housing bubble, and the link between lifestyle migrants and urban sprawl development. This paper considers the reasons for moving to Spain, which are chiefly related with the climate and lifestyle. It also explores the benefits and drawbacks of these en masse lifestyle migration and the environmental and landscape impacts on Mediterranean Spain. An Ethnographic Study of Deaf Refugees Seeking Asylum in Finland

Deaf asylum seekers are a marginalized group of people in refugee and forced migration studies. The aim of this paper is to explore and highlight the experiences of deaf asylum seekers in the asylum procedure in Finland. The data come from linguistic ethnographic methods, interviews, and ethnographic observation with 10 deaf asylum seekers. While living in the reception centers, the study participants have faced a range of linguistic and social challenges. L’estudi de la diversitat genetica de les poblacions humanes actuals ens revela quins han estat els esdeveniments demografics i moviments migratoris passats que han deixat una empremta en el nostre genoma. El coneixement dels moviments migratoris en temps prehistorics ens permet comprovar hipotesis proposades des d’altres disciplines cientifiques. De la mateixa manera, la distribucio de la diversitat genetica en el futur dependra, en gran part, de les intenses migracions humanes actuals facilitades pels avencos tecnologics.

It is a fact that migration is a worrying problem in some world areas. Literature shows many studies about it. Nevertheless, no sound solutions have been proposed. Assuming that the key implied factors are development and demography, we suggest in this research, as a first step, to state a stochastic and dynamic demographic model neither considering sexes nor ages, but including the necessary and adequate economic, education and health variables. Abstract Recently-developed capabilities for tracking the movements of individual birds over the course of a year or longer has provided increasing evidence for consistent individual differences in migration schedules and destinations.
