En este trabajo se examinan los hábitos tipográficos de un grupo de estudiantes universitarios, a través de un corpus textual formado por trabajos académicos. Nuestro objetivo es identificar los errores cometidos en cuanto a la ortografía de los elementos tipográficos: particularmente, en lo que respecta a la justificación de líneas, el sangrado, el tipo de párrafo utilizado, el interlineado, el empleo de signos ortográficos en títulos y epígrafes y la localización de los datos de identificación del autor del trabajo. Platelet count does not predict bleeding in cirrhotic patients: Results from the PRO-LIVER Study

OBJECTIVES: Thrombocytopenia is a hallmark for patients with cirrhosis and it is perceived as a risk factor for bleeding events. However, the relationship between platelet count and bleeding is still unclear. METHODS: We investigated the relationship between platelet count and major or clinical relevant nonmajor bleedings during a follow-up of â¼4 years. RESULTS: A total of 280 cirrhotic patients with different degrees of liver disease (67% males; age 64±37 years; 47% ChildâPugh B and C) were followed up for a median of 1,129 (interquartile range: 800â1,498) days yielding 953.12 patient-year of observation. Here we present the first global functional analysis of cellular responses to pore-forming toxins (PFTs). PFTs are uniquely important bacterial virulence factors, comprising the single largest class of bacterial protein toxins and being important for the pathogenesis in humans of many Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria. Their mode of action is deceptively simple, poking holes in the plasma membrane of cells. The scattered studies to date of PFT-host cell interactions indicate a handful of genes are involved in cellular defenses to PFTs. Triplet 12B-12C-12N : Search for States with Halo

Previously in [1] neutron halo was confirmed for the 2¯, 1.67 MeV and 1¯, 2.62 MeV states in 12B on base of Asymptotic Normalization Coefficients (ANC) method analysis of the obtained experimental data. An unexpected result was received for the unbound 3¯, 3.39 MeV state. Its halo radius was found to be increased and equal to ~5.9 fm. This result can be considered as an evidence of the halo-like structure in this 12B state. It should be noted that last neutron in this state has a non-zero orbital momentum (l = 2). So question arises about possible existence of states with halo in other members of the isobaric triplet 12B–12C–12N. We can expect the formation of a proton halo in the 2¯, 1.19 …

Objective Leptin is a key hormone in the control of appetite and body weight. Predominantly produced by white adipose tissue, it acts on the brain to inhibit homeostatic feeding and food reward. Leptin has free access to circumventricular organs, such as the median eminence, but entry into other brain centers is restricted by the blood–brain and blood–CSF barriers. So far, it is unknown for which of its central effects leptin has to penetrate brain barriers.
