Tectonothermal Evolution of the Broadly Rifted Zone, Ethiopian Rift

The Broadly Rifted Zone (BRZ) of southern Ethiopia is a long-lived and structurally complex segment of the East African Rift System. However, due to poor surface exposure of early synrift strata and a dearth of subsurface data, the evolution of the BRZ remains poorly understood. We present new apatite (U-Th-Sm)/He and augmented apatite fission track low-temperature thermochronology data from the Beto and Galana basin boundary fault systems to constrain the tectonothermal evolution of the western and eastern BRZ, respectively. Active lighting applied to three dimensional reconstruction of specular metallic surfaces by polarization imaging

This thesis deals with a new automated tridimensional inspection system for specular metallic surfaces, based on polarization analysis. We first present an extension of the ‘Shape from Polarization' method for dielectric to metallic surfaces. After being reflected, an unpolarized light wave becomes partially linearly polarized, depending on the surface normal and on the refractive index of the media it impinges on. Hence, by measuring the polarization parameters of the reflected light, the surface normals are computed. Il presente lavoro si prefigge, anche sulla base di riflessioni precedenti, di considerare la costruzione e la definizione sociale del genere attraverso l’analisi e le implicazioni socio-culturali introdotte, in particolare, dal transgenderismo e dall’intersessualità1 nello scenario tardo-moderno.
