Complete assignments of1H and13C NMR spectra of four hispanane diterpenoids
2000
An NMR study of four hispanane diterpenoids is described. In addition to conventional 1D NMR methods, 2D shift-correlated experiments [1H,1H-COSY, 1H,1H-TOCSY, 1H,13C-HSQC-1J(C,H). 1H,13C-HMBC-nJ(C,H) (n = 2 and 3)] and 2D 1H,1H-NOESY were used for the complete and unambiguous 1H and 13C chemical shift assignments of these diterpenoids. Reversible Dimerization of Tetraureas Derived from Calix[4]Arenes
1999
Calix[4]arene derivatives, substituted at the wider rim by four urea functions are easily available in great variety. In apolar solvents like benzene or chloroform they dimerize via NH…O=C hydrogen bonds encapsulating a single solvent molecule as guest. The exclusive formation of dimers has been proved in solution by NMR, while their shape has been characterized by single crystal X-ray analysis. The kinetic stability and the rate of the guest exchange have been studied by NOESY experiments using a derivative with lower symmetry.

Solutions of chain- (PS-d3) and phenyl ring (PS-d5) deuterated polystyrenes in perdeuterated PS-d8 have been investigated with 1H and 2D NMR relaxation and wide line methods. The intra- and intermolecular parts of the 1H second moments at −100°C are 3,7 G2 and 2,0 G2, respectively, for PS-d3, and 14,7 G2 and ca. 0 G2, respectively, for PS-d5. The intermolecular contribution to the 1H spin lattice relaxation rate, determined at 55 MHz between 150°C and 250°C, is about one third of the total rate in PS-d3, and negligible in PS-d5. We suggest that this contribution is caused by rotational fluctuations of the intermolecular H H vectors. The intramolecular 1H- and 2D-relaxation rates indicate th…
Study of electrostatic potential surface distribution of wild-type plastocyaninSynechocystissolution structure determined by homonuclear NMR
2003
Plastocyanin is a small (∼10 kDa), type I blue copper protein that works as an electron donor to photosystem I from cytochrome f in both chloroplast systems and in some strains of cyanobacteria. Comparative studies of the kinetic mechanisms of plastocyanins in different organisms show that the electron transfer from photosystem I happens by simple collision in cyanobacteria but through a intermediate transition complex in green algae and superior plants. Previous work has proved that this effect cannot be explained by structural variations across the different plastocyanins but it can be explained by differences in the electrostatic potential distribution at the protein surface. In that cas…
Cytotoxic drimane meroterpenoids from the Indonesian marine sponge Dactylospongia elegans
2017
Abstract Chemical investigation of the methanol extract of an Indonesian marine sponge Dactylospongia elegans (family Thorectidae) afforded two undescribed drimane meroterpenoidal metabolites, dactylospongenones G and H (1 and 2) together with thirteen known compounds (3–15) including pelorol, 5-epi-ilimaquinone, 5-epi-smenospongine, 5-epi-smenospongidine, nakijiquinone D, smenospongine C, isospongiaquinone, isosmenospongine, nakijiquinones A-C, G and 5-epi-nakijiquinone Q. The structures of the new metabolites were unambiguously determined by 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy and by HRESIMS. All isolated compounds were assessed for their antimicrobial, antitubercular and cytotoxic activities. Sev…
3-Diazopyrroles—IV. Structure determination using 13C NMR spectroscopy
1990
Abstract On the basis of the 13 C NMR chemical shifts, it is proposed that, although b is the major canonical structure, structure c , in which a negative charge resides at C-3, provides an important contribution to the resonance stabilization of the 3-diazopyrroles, 1–4 .
Competitive arsenate and phosphate adsorption on α-FeOOH, LaOOH, and nano-TiO2: Two-dimensional correlation spectroscopy study
2021
Abstract Competitive adsorption of arsenate (AsO43−) and phosphate (PO43−) on α-FeOOH, LaOOH, and nano-TiO2 was studied using batch adsorption experiments and in-situ flow cell ATR-FTIR coupled with two-dimensional correlation spectroscopy (2D-COS) for the first time. With a higher temporal resolution, our results found a highly dynamic adsorption sequence for AsO43− and PO43−. When AsO43− and PO43− were simultaneously exposed to the adsorbents at the same concentrations, AsO43− was preferentially adsorbed by α-FeOOH and TiO2, but PO43− adsorption was dominant on LaOOH. The results implied that the PO43− adsorbed on LaOOH had to be remobilized to allow for AsO43− adsorption, but that PO43− …
Fusaristatins D–F and (7S,8R)-(−)-chlamydospordiol from Fusarium sp. BZCB-CA, an endophyte of Bothriospermum chinense
2021
Abstract Three new lipodepsipeptides, fusaristatins D–F (1–3) and a new α-pyrone derivative, (7S,8R)-(−)-chlamydospordiol (5), together with eight known compounds (4, 6–12) were obtained from solid rice cultures of Fusarium sp. BZCB-CA, an endophyte of the Chinese medicinal plant, Bothriospermum chinense. The planar structures of the new metabolites (1–3, 5) were established by spectroscopic techniques (1D/2D NMR and HRESIMS). Marfey’s method was applied to determine the absolute configuration of 1, while the absolute configuration of 5 was determined by single-crystal X-ray crystallography analysis in addition to Mosher’s method. Crystallographic data of inflatin C (7) are also supplied he…
Geminal ionic liquids: a combined approach to investigate their three-dimensional organisation.
2009
Different investigations, such as 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy, resonance light scattering spectroscopy and molecular dynamics simulations, have been jointly used to achieve a deeper understanding of the degree of structural order in two geminal ionic liquids. In particular, 3,3'-di-n-butyl-1,1'-(1,3-phenylenedimethylene)diimidazolium and 3,3'-di-n-butyl-1,1'-(1,4-phenylenedimethylene)diimidazolium bis[bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide] have been studied. These geminal ionic liquids were chosen because of the presence of both a rigid phenylenedimethylene link between two imidazolium rings, which should give a high degree of order to the solvent system, and the different shapes of the two cat…
Two new triterpenoid saponins fromPittosporum senaciaPutterlick (Pittosporaceae)
2012
From the branches of Pittosporum senacia Putterlick (Pittosporaceae), two new triterpenoid saponins, senaciapittosides A and B (1, 2), were isolated. Their structures were elucidated by extensive analysis of one- and two-dimensional nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, high-resolution electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (HR-ESIMS) and chemical evidence as 3-O-[β-d-glucopyranosyl-(1 2)]-[α-l-arabinopyranosyl-(1 3)]-[α-l-arabinofuranosyl-(1 4)]-β-d-glucuronopyranosyl oleanolic acid 28-O-β-d-glucopyranosyl ester (1) and 3-O-[β-d-glucopyranosyl-(1 2)]-[α-l-arabinopyranosyl-(1 3)]-[α-l-arabinofuranosyl-(1 4)]-β-d-glucuronopyranosyl-22-O-α-l-arabinopyranosyl-21-acetoxy R1-barrigen…
