Resonances for nonanalytic potentials

2009

We consider semiclassical Schr"odinger operators on $R^n$, with $C^infty$ potentials decaying polynomially at infinity. The usual theories of resonances do not apply in such a non-analytic framework. Here, under some additional conditions, we show that resonances are invariantly defined up to any power of their imaginary part. The theory is based on resolvent estimates for families of approximating distorted operators with potentials that are holomorphic in narrow complex sectors around $R^n$.

Construction of pseudo-bosons systems

2010

In a recent paper we have considered an explicit model of a PT-symmetric system based on a modification of the canonical commutation relation. We have introduced the so-called {\em pseudo-bosons}, and the role of Riesz bases in this context has been analyzed in detail. In this paper we consider a general construction of pseudo-bosons based on an explicit {coordinate-representation}, extending what is usually done in ordinary supersymmetric quantum mechanics. We also discuss an example arising from a linear modification of standard creation and annihilation operators, and we analyze its connection with coherent states.

Dynamical Casimir-Polder force on a partially dressed atom near a conducting wall

2010

We study the time evolution of the Casimir-Polder force acting on a neutral atom in front of a perfectly conducting plate, when the system starts its unitary evolution from a partially dressed state. We solve the Heisenberg equations for both atomic and field quantum operators, exploiting a series expansion with respect to the electric charge and an iterative technique. After discussing the behaviour of the time-dependent force on an initially partially-dressed atom, we analyze a possible experimental scheme to prepare the partially dressed state and the observability of this new dynamical effect.

Representations and derivations of quasi ∗-algebras induced by local modifications of states

2009

Abstract The relationship between the GNS representations associated to states on a quasi ∗-algebra, which are local modifications of each other (in a sense which we will discuss) is examined. The role of local modifications on the spatiality of the corresponding induced derivations describing the dynamics of a given quantum system with infinite degrees of freedom is discussed.

Implementation of Universal Digital Architecture using 3D-NoC for Mobile Terminal

2014

International Conference on Control, Decision and Information Technologies (CoDIT), Ecole Natl Ingenieurs Metz, Metz, FRANCE, NOV 03-05, 2014; International audience; The need to integrate multiple wireless communication protocols into a single low-cost flexible hardware platform is prompted by the increasing number of emerging communication protocols and applications in modern embedded systems. So the current challenge is to design of new digital architectures, in addition to its ability to take over of many functions. In this paper we have identified similarities between the despreader units in Rake receiver and the processor element in FFT-SDF (Fast Fourier Transform-Single path Delay Fe…

Fractional model of concrete hereditary viscoelastic behaviour

2016

The evaluation of creep effects in concrete structures is addressed in the literature using different predictive models, supplied by specific codes, and applying the concepts of linear viscoelastic theory with ageing. The expressions used in the literature are mainly based on exponential laws, which are introduced in the integral expression of the Boltzmann principle; this approach leads to the need of finding approximated numerical solutions of the viscoelastic response. In this study, the hereditary fractional viscoelastic model is applied to concrete elements, underlining the convenience of using creep or relaxation functions expressed by power laws. The full reciprocal character of cree…

On the stability of the localized single-valued extension property under commuting perturbations

2013

This article concerns the permanence of the single-valued extension property at a point under suitable perturbations. While this property is, in general, not preserved under sums and products of commuting operators, we obtain positive results in the case of commuting perturbations that are quasi-nilpotent, algebraic, or Riesz operators.
