The objective of this case report is to describe a surgical and prosthetic technique to create a lost papilla following orthodontic space opening (Atherton´s patch) through implant supported rehabilitation. A switching platform implant was used to replace a left maxillary canine in a unitary interdental edentulous ridge with Atherton´s patch in the distal area of the upper lateral left incisor. The radiographic study revealed correct level of the interproximal bone of the adjacent teeth. A mucoperiosteal flap with crest incision and sulcular extension to the adjacent teeth was made. Repression of Human Papillomavirus Oncogene Expression under Hypoxia Is Mediated by PI3K/mTORC2/AKT Signaling

Oncogenic HPV types are major human carcinogens. Under hypoxia, HPV-positive cancer cells can repress the viral E6/E7 oncogenes and induce a reversible growth arrest. This response could contribute to therapy resistance, immune evasion, and tumor recurrence upon reoxygenation. Here, we uncover evidence that HPV oncogene repression is mediated by hypoxia-induced activation of canonical PI3K/mTORC2/AKT signaling. AKT-dependent downregulation of E6/E7 is only observed under hypoxia and occurs, at least in part, at the transcriptional level. ANKRD26-RET - A novel gene fusion involving RET in papillary thyroid carcinoma

Abstract Background Rearrangements of RET are drivers of oncogenesis, traceable in different cancer types as papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC), non-small cell lung cancer, colorectal or breast cancer. Anchored multiplex PCR based next-generation sequencing (NGS) can detect RET rearrangements involving previously unknown partner genes. Istniejąca od 1000 roku w związku metropolitalnym z Gnieznem diecezja wrocławska, na mocy bulli papieża Piusa VII De salute animarum z16 lipca 1821 roku, stała się diecezją egzymowaną, tj. podległą bezpośrednio pod Stolicę Apostolską. Mijająca 200. rocznica tegoż wydarzenia jest dobrą okazją, aby prześledzić, w jaki sposób dążenia do zerwania zależności kościelnej od związku metropolitalnego z Gnieznem były wypadkową dziejów politycznych śląskiej dzielnicy.
