The co-construction of the identical positionings of teachers and pupils in physical education
2015
This doctoral work is interested in the identical positionings of the teachers and the pupils led by the relation that the social scene in Physical Education establishes between them. These positionings are approached by means of the theories bound to the social categorization and more precisely the theory of the social identity, the theory of the auto-categorization and the conception of the social partitions. If the social partitions establish a continuation of the first two theories, they also rest on their own theoretical foundation, based on social psychology of the language. The goal of the first work was to propose a review of certain principles of the social categorization. This pro…
Mycorrhizal symbiosis changes host nitrogen source use
2021
Abstract Purpose The ecological importance of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) in plant acquisition of inorganic and organic sources of nitrogen (N) is not clear. To improve understanding of the plant N nutrition ecology, we tested the effect of intraspecific competition and AMF in plant N source use in growth and N acquisition. Methods Solidago virgaurea was grown in microcosms in a fully factorial experiment under greenhouse conditions. The factors tested were intraspecific competition between seedlings and adult plants (yes, no), N source (NH4, glycine) and AMF (inoculated with Glomus hoi, not inoculated). Results When grown separately, non-mycorrhizal seedling growth was highest when …
The role of melt composition on aqueous fluid vs. silicate melt partitioning of bromine in magmas
2018
International audience; Volcanogenic halogens, in particular bromine, potentially play an important role in the ozone depletion of the atmosphere. Understanding bromine behaviour in magmas is therefore crucial to properly evaluate the contribution of volcanic eruptions to atmospheric chemistry and their environmental impact. To date, bromine partitioning between silicate melts and the gas phase is very poorly constrained, with the only relevant experimental studies limited to investigation of synthetic melt with silicic compositions. In this study, fluid/melt partitioning experiments were performed using natural silicate glasses with mafic, intermediate and silicic compositions. For each co…
Growth and biomass partitioning of Arbutus unedo, Laurus nobilis, Phillyrea angustifolia and Rhamnus alaternus seedlings under water deficit
2013
Water scarcity in the Mediterranean areas is very common and the selection of drought tolerant species is a priority for landscaping purposes in the Mediterranean areas. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of water deficit on growth and biomass partitioning of Arbutus unedo, Laurus nobilis, Phillyrea angustifolia and Rhamnus alaternus. Seventy-two seedlings per species were grown in the greenhouse in 4-liter pots and three water regimes were imposed starting on 6 April and until 9 June, 2010. One-third of the plants was well irrigated to maintain soil water content in the 25-35% range (CTR); a second group of plants was deficit-irrigated to maintain soil water content in …
Upscaling leaf gas exchange measurements to the whole grapevine canopy: An update
2009
This review first revisits current knowledge about single-leaf function, viz. photosynthesis, chiefly in relation to environmental factors, that underscores the importance of multiple summer stresses. Emphasis is placed on the response different genotypes show under light and heat stress with or without soil-water shortage. Secondly, it tackles the thorny issue of extrapolating single-leaf readings to the whole-canopy level, with special reference to both methodological and physiological implications. Whole-canopy gas-exchange systems deliver and emphasise the usefulness of such an approach in achieving key research goals. One case in point is quantifying the amount and dynamics of canopy g…
Effect of konjac glucomannan addition on aroma release in gels containing potato starch.
2014
International audience; The present study aimed to measure the retention of aroma compounds (ethyl acetate, ethyl hexanoate and carvacrol) in dispersions based on konjac glucomannan and/or potato starch, and to highlight the influence of konjac glucomannan on the mechanisms involved in aroma retention. Publications on the effect of konjac glucomannan on aroma release are scarce. Konjac glocomannan is a polysaccharide used as a food additive for its viscous and emulsifying properties. Retention of aroma compounds in dispersions was calculated from partition coefficients which were measured using the phase ratio variation method. This method, consisting of analyses of the headspace at equilib…
A PARTITION TYPE METHOD FOR CLUSTERING MIXED DATA
1990
In this paper, we propose a method for clustering mixed data. The method is a nonhierarchical one, and deals simultaneously with variables of three main kinds: numerical, ordinal, and nominal. It is based on the minimization of a particular criterion f(G。) over all the partitions G。of n entities in m distinct clusters. The criterion is founded on a peculiar kind of internal standardized mean diversity of the entities, according to the three types of variables. The algorithm to get the best partition is also presented: it starts from a non-random choice of the first partition; the results are compared with those obtained by a random assignment to a first partition. In order to show the usefu…
L’actio in factum come surrogato dell’azione di ripetizione? A proposito di Iul. 60 dig. D. 39.6.18.1 e Iav. 13 epist. D. 19.5.10
2021
The study touches upon the theme of the relationship between condictio and actio in factum in the matter of innominate contracts. More precisely, the question arises whether the atio in factum could have performed a merely repetitive function, rather than lead to the protection of the negative interest. In this regard the author deals with Iul. 60 dig. D. 39.6.18.1 and Iav. 13 epist. D. 19.5.10, on the subject of donatio mortis causa and (quasi-)usufruct respectively. What the two texts have in common is the fact that in both cases the use of an actio in factum pretoria (pursuant to Gai 4.46) is envisaged in a purely repetitive function and that for both cases a relationship with the issue …
Col : A Data Collection Protocol for Vanet
2012
International audience; In this paper, we present a protocol to collect data within a vehicular ad hoc network (VANET). In spite of the intrinsic dynamic of such network, our protocol simultaneously offers three relevant properties: (1) It allows any vehicle to collect data beyond its direct neighborhood (i.e., vehicles within direct communication range) using vehicle-to-vehicle communications only (i.e., the infrastructure is not required); (2) It tolerates possible network partitions; (3) It works on demand and stops when the data collection is achieved. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first collect protocol having these three characteristics. All that is chiefly obtained thanks…
