2012

The mystery shopping technique is a tool frequently used by organizations to hit a double target: (1) to seduce/to reassure/ to make the customer regular; (2) to diffuse the customer's voice in the organization and to justify the change. Although a great diffusion of the mystery shopping in private and public organizations, there are few studies on this tool. From the SNCF's example, the author considers the mystery shopping from the foucaldian point of view as a management mechanism in order to support organizational changes and analyses the effects of power induced by this tool.

Activity-based Management in France: A focus on the information systems department of a bank

2011

International audience; The aim of the paper is to describe the Activity-based Costing and Management methods applied in France. For that purpose, we use a literature review and a case study. In a first time, we analyse the origins of the methods and their diffusion. Then we present the French situation. Finally, we propose a case study that takes place in a French bank. Our paper shows that the ABC and ABM methods are as developed in France as in the Anglo-Saxon countries and that the methods are strategically oriented.

2022

Italian “Gelli–Bianco” law (law n. 24 enacted by the Italian Government on 8 March 2017) introduced innovative changes and regulations regarding patient safety and healthcare workers’ (HCWs) liability. We promoted a national survey to evaluate the effect of the law on HCWs. The questionnaire was edited and distributed using the free online tool “Google Forms” (Google LLC). The mode of administration chosen for the questionnaire was telematic self-completion. In particular, the questionnaire was sent to several portals of information, websites, in the scientific and medical sectors. Four hundred forty-five subjects participated in the survey. A Beggar, Self-Awareness And Willingness To Help

2008

The present field experiment examines the relationship between self-awareness, violation of personal space and helping  behavior. A beggar asking for alms on the streets. To induce the first experimental condition, the state of objective self-awareness, the beggar had a mirror at chest height, suspended from a string round his neck. In the control condition, in place of the mirror, the beggar held a similarly dimensioned piece of cardboard in the same position. Both mirror and cardboard bore the message "A FEW PENNIES THANKS." As concerned the second experimental condition, the beggar either stood still waiting for people to come up to him, or walked toward the people as they approached, th…
