The transformation of the Horatian Sabine farm in Persius? Satire 6
2020
The purpose of this article is to focus on the motif of the countryside in Roman satire. In particular, it aspires to study the way the Sabine farm is delineated in Horace's Satire 2.6 and later in his Epistles, in order to elucidate the evolution of this motif in Persius? 6th Satire. In this poem, Persius addresses Caesius Bassus, who retreats to Sabine to seek poetic inspiration, but seems trapped in the paths of earlier poetry and cannot attain bliss, while the poet achieves it in the port of Luna.
Päivitettyä perinnettä : saamelaisen nykyrunouden saamelaiskuvastoja
2017
This doctoral dissertation investigates the imagery of Sáminess in contemporary Sámi poetry. The research material of the study consists of poetry collections published in North Sámi and Norwegian by eight Sámi authors: Inger-Mari Aikio (previously Aikio-Arianaick), Inga Ravna Eira, Rawdna Carita Eira, Irene Larsen, Rauni Magga Lukkari, Hege Siri, Nils- Aslak Valkeapää, and Ellen Marie Vars. The emphasis is on poetry published at the turn of the 2010s. The study examines how Sáminess has been depicted and constructed in poetry from the 1980s onwards. The four original research articles ask how images traditionally connected to Sáminess and indigenousness are used in contemporary poems and h…

Verba mihi desunt.
2021
In Tr. 3.14.46, Ovid laments his decrease in Latin knowledge, concluding that he almost unlearned his mother tongue (uerba mihi desunt dedidicique loqui) and in Tr. 5.7b.55-64 he confesses the decline of his language skills caused by disuse. Moreover, he states that he has learned to speak in Getic to the point of having composed a Geticum libellum (Pont. 4.13.17-23). So, in Ovidian exilic poetry we can observe the elegiac representation of “language attrition”, consisting in a gradual decline or loss of language proficiency, in conjunction with long-lasting contact with foreign languages. But the linguistic adeptness emerging in Ibis and generally in the exilic corpus shows no sign of attr…
La poesia per a infants. Estat de la qüestió en llengua catalana
2009
2007
This article is a revision of Teodor Llorente’s literary work in Catalan, in prose and in poetry, which turns out to be an exceptional production for his time, in accordance with his role as a leader and an ideologist of the Valencian Renaixença, and places him as the poet who contributes most, both in quantity and quality, to this literary movement. The first part of the article, focused on his lyric poetry, revises the six editions of his verses which were published between 1885 and 1983, and brings back to life ‘unknown’ poems -unpublished or dispersed- which have never been included in any edition. The second part lists and catalogues his prose writings in Catalan and dismantles the bel…
Colori dell'eros nelle Grecia antica
2020
2017
A typical mentor-moralizer in Porazińska's poetry is almost nonexistent. Instead, the reader finds a mentor-storyteller, a childs friend, whose omniscience serves to articulate the childs fate, which is particularly visible in realist poems. A creation of the mentor is determined by the genre. In lullabies and berceuse poems, the mentor is a tender caretaker; in fables the mentor instructs directly, using a touch of humor, or through a simple plot with a dominant feature and pure nonsense; in educational poems the mentor is hidden behind descriptions and storytelling; in jokes, portraits, and anecdotes the mentor uses short stories, etc. In all the presented forms the mentor has effective t…
De monstroso partu
1596
