Cross country sit skiing is a Paralympic discipline in which athletes due to physical impairment ski sitting on a sit-ski. The impairment influences performance directly and also through sitting position. Athletes with a better trunk control usually adopt a sitting position called “kneeing” in which the hip joints are higher than the knee joints. Kinematics of the ulna during pronation and supination in a cadaver study: implications for elbow arthroplasty

Objective. Aim of this study was to exactly describe and quantify kinematics of the ulna during pro- and supination. Design. Biomechanical study in fresh frozen cadavers. Background. A previous MRI study revealed a varus/valgus motion of the ulna averaging 7.1° during pro-/supination. Axial rotation, however, could not be quantified. Methods. Sixteen arms were examined in a new apparatus that fixed the humerus on a template and allowed forearm rotation. Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) is the most common modality for quantitative measurements of bone mineral density. Nevertheless, errors related to this exam are still very common, and may significantly impact on the final diagnosis and therapy. Operator-related errors may occur during each DXA step and can be related to wrong patient positioning, error in the acquisition process or in the scan analysis. The aim of this review is to provide a practical guide on how to recognize such errors in spine and hip DXA scan and how to avoid them, also presenting some of the most common artifacts encountered in clinical practice.

In addition, I investigate the picture that present national costumes give about eighteenth century dressing. Intraparty preference voting systems offer different incentives for candidates to cultivate a personal vote, but little is known about how the candidates' policy positions affect their elec-toral success in intraparty competition. This article analyses the effect of candidates' ideological positions and personal attributes on their preference vote share in the 2015 and 2019 Swiss Lower House elections. Both relational and positional goods are based upon an idea of joint consumption - though with opposite signs. Indeed, in both cases, individuals' consumption choices take into account not only the individuals themselves, but others, as well. Given that relational goods provide a form of identity to their consumers, we show that a certain degree of positionality emerges within the consumption of relational goods. Analogously, except in a two-agent context, each positional good also has a relational component. What emerges is a complex structure of economic outcomes based on both relational and positional motives.
