Time course of cerebrovascular autoregulation during extreme Trendelenburg position for robotic-assisted prostatic surgery

Trendelenburg positioning in combination with pneumoperitoneum during robotic-assisted prostatic surgery possibly impairs cerebrovascular autoregulation. If cerebrovascular autoregulation is disturbed, arterial hypertension might induce cerebral hyperaemia and brain oedema, while low arterial blood pressure can induce cerebral ischaemia. Objective: The aim of this study was to acknowledge errors in patients positioning in CT colonography (CTC) and their effect in radiation exposure. Materials and methods: CTC studies of a total of 199 patients coming from two different referral hospitals were retrospectively reviewed. Playing tactics, contextual variables and offensive effectiveness in English Premier League soccer matches. A multilevel analysis.

The aim of this study was to investigate the combined effects of tactical and contextual indicators on achieving offensive penetration and scoring opportunities in English Premier League (EPL) soccer matches. A total of 1971 team possessions from 20 random matches were evaluated by means of multidimensional observation. The EPL matches had a great proportion of fast attacks (36.0%) followed by combinative (29.6%), direct attacks (24.1%) and counterattacks (9.5%). Multilevel logistic regression models revealed that counterattacks (OR = 3.428; 95% CI: 2.004–5.864; P<0.001) were more effective to create goal scoring opportunities than combinative attacks, while direct attacks showed to be less…

Abstract Bone Strain Index (BSI) is a new finite element analysis tool applied to hip dual energy X-ray absorptiometry scans. The aim of this study was to assess the short-term precision error of BSI on the proximal femur, both on a phantom and patients. The International Society for Clinical Densitometry guidelines were followed for short-term precision error assessment.
