In order to demonstrate that gravity is not only a load acting locally and continuously on the body limbs, but is also used by higher levels of the nervous system as a dynamic orienting reference for the elaboration of the motor act, a review of several experiments conducted both in 1 g and 0 g are presented. During various locomotor tasks, the strategy that consists of stabilizing the head with respect to gravity illustrates one of the solutions used by the CNS to optimize the control of dynamic equilibrium. Analyzing Protein-Protein Spatial-Temporal Dependencies from Image Sequences Using Fuzzy Temporal Random Sets

Total Internal Reflection Fluorescence Microscopy (TIRFM) allows us to image fluorescenttagged proteins near the plasma membrane of living cells with high spatial-temporal resolution. Using TIRFM imaging of GFP-tagged clathrin endocytic proteins, areas of fluorescence are observed as overlapping spots of different sizes and durations. Standard procedures to measure protein-protein colocalization of dual labeled samples threshold the original graylevel images to segment areas covered by different proteins. A 3D Deep Neural Network for Liver Volumetry in 3T Contrast-Enhanced MRI.

 To create a fully automated, reliable, and fast segmentation tool for Gd-EOB-DTPA-enhanced MRI scans using deep learning. Datasets of Gd-EOB-DTPA-enhanced liver MR images of 100 patients were assembled. Ground truth segmentation of the hepatobiliary phase images was performed manually. Automatic image segmentation was achieved with a deep convolutional neural network. Our neural network achieves an intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) of 0.987, a Sørensen-Dice coefficient of 96.7 ± 1.9 % (mean ± std), an overlap of 92 ± 3.5 %, and a Hausdorff distance of 24.9 ± 14.7 mm compared with two expert readers who corresponded to an ICC of 0.973, a Sørensen-Dice coefficient of 95.2 ± 2.8 %, and…

International audience; In this paper, we propose a novel method for pixel-wise scene segmentation application using polarimetry. To address the difficulty of detecting highly reflective areas such as water and windows, we use the angle and degree of polarization of these areas, obtained by processing images from a polarimetric camera. International audience; This paper presents a novel method to identify the 2D axial Magnetic Resonance (MR) slice from a pre-acquired MR prostate volume that closely corresponds to the 2D axial Transrectal Ultrasound (TRUS) slice obtained during prostate biopsy. The shape-context representations of the segmented prostate contours in both the imaging modalities are used to establish point correspondences using Bhattacharyya distance. Co-transmitter mediated facilitation by sympathetic nerve stimulation of evoked acetylcholine release from the rabbit perfused atria preparation.

Rabbit atria were isolated with the extrinsic right sympathetic and vagus nerves attached and perfused with Tyrode solution. Acetylcholine overflow was determined after labelling of the transmitter stores with [14C]choline and fractionation of the radioactivity on cation exchange columns. Sympathetic nerve stimulation (SNS, 2 Hz, 3 min) carried out together with vagus nerve stimulation (VNS, 2 Hz, 3 min), but each SNS pulse preceding a vagal one by 19 ms, caused a facilitation of acetylcholine overflow of about 60% versus independent controls in the absence of SNS.
