In recent years, a growing number of forced migrants have travelled to Italy across the Mediterranean Sea. While the number of new arrivals has diminished since 2017, the Italian reception system still struggles to process the high number of applications for international protection. A significant proportion of forced migrants who arrive in Italy end up living in informal settlements, such as occupied buildings, shacks, containers and tented camps. The paper proposes big-data-augmented ethnography as a novel mixed-methods approach to studying political discussions in a hybrid media system. Using such empirical setup, the authors examined candidate–candidate online interaction during election campaigning. Candidate–candidate interaction crossing party boundaries is scarce and occurs in the form of negative campaigning via social media, with the shaming of rival candidates and engaging in battles with them. Šīs problēmas pētīšana un tās novēršana ir ļoti būtiska, jo no šo jēdzienu izprašanas veida ir atkarīga atbildības par izdarīto pārkāpumu. Goda un cieņas aizskaršanas gadījumā iestājas civiltiesiskā atbildība, bet neslavas celšanas gadījumā iestājas kriminālatbildība. In this paper we propose a new mobility model that uses sea transports for systematic and occasional users, tourists, etc.., which must reach the airports of Palermo and Trapani. In particular fast ferries, even with their operational limitations, can be used for quick links designed for the mobility demand that interests the airports of Western Sicily. These transport nodes are currently isolated because they are accessible essentially by means of rubber, given the supply shortages of the rail system.
