The role of freshwater copepods in the environmental risk assessment of caffeine and propranolol mixtures in the surface water bodies of Spain

In this study we aimed at assessing: (i) the environmental risk posed by mixtures of caffeine and propranolol to the freshwater ecosystems of Spain; (ii) the sensitivity of freshwater copepod species to the two compounds; (iii) if the toxicity of caffeine and propranolol to freshwater copepods contributes to the environmental risk posed by the two compounds in the freshwater bodies of Spain. This essay attempts to assess the impact of the new technologies on the discipline of history. It starts from the assumption that the revolution in information technology has altered the way in which texts are transmitted, the medium in which they are made available, and the ways in which they are read. Moving on, this essay tries to evaluate how far it might affect other fundamental ideas. The changes are various. A continuación se relacionan estas configuraciones con las estrategias competitivas de las empresas con el fin de validar la estructura configuracional obtenida. Los resultados muestran tres tipos de configuraciones. La primera, empresas con prácticas de alto rendimiento (PAR) (37,5%), se caracteriza por un intenso y generalizado uso de dichas prácticas. Understanding innovation in creative industries: knowledge bases and innovation performance in art restoration organisations

[EN] This paper studies innovation in the creative industry of art restoration, which is characterised by an intensive use of symbolic knowledge. Using the resource-based view of the firm as a theoretical framework, this study adapts Community Innovation Survey (CIS) methodology to this industry, creating and exploiting a unique dataset from the restoration departments of museums in 43 countries on 5 continents. The results suggest that the type and composition of the knowledge bases in play influence a department¿s absorptive capacity to access external information sources and thereby impact innovative outcomes. Effect of Chitin Whiskers on the Molecular Dynamics of Carrageenan-Based Nanocomposites

[EN] Films of carrageenan (KC) and glycerol (g) with different contents of chitin nanowhiskers (CHW) were prepared by a solution casting process. The molecular dynamics of pure carrageenan (KC), carrageenan/glycerol (KCg) and KCg with different quantities of CHWs as a filler was studied using dielectric relaxation spectroscopy. The analysis of the CHW effect on the molecular mobility at the glass transition, T-g, indicates that non-attractive intermolecular interactions between KCg and CHW occur. The fragility index increased upon CHW incorporation, due to a reduction in the polymer chains mobility produced by the CHW confinement of the KCg network. The apparent activation energy associated…
