In this essay I discuss the emergence of the Mao cult during the Cultural Revolution in China and its appropriation in cultural revolutions in Europe and the United States to show how this image resonated with similar cults of popular icons in the West and lent itself to the formulation of theories and practices of postmodernism. The image quality of these cults facilitated the rise of the Mao-craze in the late 1980s and 1990s when political pop productions of Mao by Chinese artists emerged in New York and were then transplanted to China where they met with transfigurations of Mao’s legacy in the People’s Republic. Conceptualizing engagement in the mobile context

This conceptual study answers how engagement is defined and conceptualized in the mobile service/technology context. A systematic literature review was conducted in the fields of business and human-computer interactions to achieve this objective. The 22 studies included in the final analysis are classified into two categories that distinguish the main perspectives of mobile engagement. This study demonstrates that prior research has either conceptualized mobile engagement as a behavioral activity (i.e., using or interacting with mobile service/technology) or has perceived it holistically as customer engagement that occurs in a mobile environment. Background & Aims ER stress is associated with a growing number of liver diseases, including drug-induced hepatotoxicity. The non-nucleoside analogue reverse transcriptase inhibitor Efavirenz, a cornerstone of the multidrug strategy employed to treat HIV1 infection, has been related to the development of various adverse events, including metabolic disturbances and hepatic toxicity, the mechanisms of which remain elusive. Recent evidence has pinpointed a specific mitochondrial effect of Efavirenz in human hepatic cells.
