Learning and teaching oral communication in English in vocational school : learners' and teachers' views

Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää Englannin opetuksen tilaa ammatillisessa koulutuksessa. Suullista kielitaitoa painotetaan Ammatillisen perustutkinnon perusteissa sekä koulukohtaisissa opetussuunnitelmissa, joten myös tämä tutkimus keskittyi siihen. Vastaavia tutkimuksia on aiemmin tehty lukio-opetuksesta, mutta ei ammatillisesta opetuksesta. Aihe on tärkeä koska Suomessa osallistuu vuosittain satoja tuhansia ihmisiä ammatilliseen koulutukseen. Tutkimukseen osallistui 61 kolmannen vuoden opiskelijaa ja kolme opettajaa. Oli tärkeää, että molempien osapuolten näkemykset pääsivät esiin. Tutkimuksessa tarkastellaan kodin ja koulun välistä vuorovaikutusta peruskoulun yläasteella. Ilmiötä lähestytään sekä koulun että kodin näkökulmista. Tutkimuksessa kysytään, millaisia merkityksiä ja toimintapaikkoja vanhemmat saavat koulun arjessa, tarkastellaan vanhempien tulkintoja koulusta sekä kodin ja koulun yhteistyöstä sekä pohditaan opettajuuden ja vanhemmuuden yhteen kietoutumista. Vanhemmuutta lähestytään analyysissä sukupuolittuneena ja erilaisten sosiaalisten asemien haltijoina. Tutkimus edustaa kasvatussosiologista tutkimusta, joka saa vaikutteita nais- ja sukupuolitutkimuksesta, etnografisesta tutkimusotteesta ja sosiaalisesta konstruktionismista. Vārdu krājuma zināšanām ir svarīga loma komunikācijā svešvalodā. Šī darba mērķis ir parādīt kā izmantojot dažādas mācību metodes ir iespējams palīdzēt vidusskolēniem vārdu krājuma apgūšanā. Lai sasniegtu bakalaura darba galveno mērķi un atbildētu uz pētniecisko jautājumu par to, kura ir visefektīvākā metode jaunu vārdu krājumu mācīšanai, darbā tika veikts literatūras apskats kā teorētiskā metode un empīriskajā daļā tika veikts pētījums, kurā ietilpa stundu vadīšana, ieskaite un anketēšana. Lasīšanas prasmes tiek izmantotas, lai iegūtu un saglabātu informāciju un zināšanas. Tādēļ diplomdarba autore domā, ka skolēnu lasīšanas prasmes vajadzētu attīstīt sākumskolas angļu valodas stundās, piedaloties ievada uzdevumos. Pētījuma mērķis ir uzzināt, kā ievada uzdevumi palīdz jauniem skolēniem attīstīt viņu angļu valodas lasīšanas prasmes. Aktywność ucznia ma ogromne znaczenie w kształtowaniu i rozwijaniu abstrakcyjnych pojęć matematycznych. Jednak aktywność ta nie powinna ograniczać się jedynie do aktywności zewnętrznej, często jedynie pozornej, ale przede wszystkim powinna być to aktywność umysłowa ucznia. Zachowania i postawy specyficzne dla aktywności matematycznej można bowiem rozwijać u ucznia jedynie w toku jego aktywności poznawczej (intelektualnej). W opracowaniu podjęto próbę ukazania możliwości stymulowania i rozwijania oraz przejawy aktywności matematycznej uczniów w wieku wczesnoszkolnym w trakcie rozwiązywania zadań.

Teachers’ occupational well-being in relation to teacher–student interactions at the lower secondary school level

This study investigated the relation between teachers’ occupational well-being and the quality of teacher–student interactions in lower secondary schools in Finland. Teachers (N = 48) self-rated their occupational well-being in terms of engagement, stress, job demands, and emotional exhaustion. Teacher–student interactions in classrooms were video-recorded and coded with the Classroom Assessment Scoring System. The results of multivariate regression analyses showed that teachers who reported higher work-related stress were observed with a lower quality of emotional support, classroom organization, and instructional support when controlling for background factors. Teachers’ psychological well-being is a crucial aspect that influences learning in a classroom climate. The aim of the study was to investigate teachers’ emotional intelligence, burnout, work engagement, and self-efficacy in times of remote teaching during COVID-19 lockdown. A sample of 65 teachers (Mage = 50.49), from early childhood through lower secondary education, were recruited during a period of school closure to answer self-report questionnaires and other measures assessing study variables. The studies consisted in comparing results with regard to the categories and content of symbols recognized in the drawings presented by younger school-age children of the two nationalities. The low level of physical activity among young people has become a common societal concern. This study sought new information on the backgrounds of adolescents’ physical activity.
