Numerical Recovery of Source Singularities via the Radiative Transfer Equation with Partial Data

The inverse source problem for the radiative transfer equation is considered, with partial data. Here we demonstrate numerical computation of the normal operator $X_{V}^{*}X_{V}$ where $X_{V}$ is the partial data solution operator to the radiative transfer equation. The numerical scheme is based in part on a forward solver designed by F. Monard and G. Bal. We will see that one can detect quite well the visible singularities of an internal optical source $f$ for generic anisotropic $k$ and $\sigma$, with or without noise added to the accessible data $X_{V}f$. Information security has become a very important topic especially during the last years. Web services are becoming more complex and dynamic. This offers new possibilities for attackers to exploit vulnerabilities by inputting malicious queries or code. However, these attack attempts are often recorded in server logs. Analyzing these logs could be a way to detect intrusions either periodically or in real time. We propose a framework that preprocesses and analyzes these log files. The Sleeping Cell problem is a particular type of cell degradation in Long-Term Evolution (LTE) networks. In practice such cell outage leads to the lack of network service and sometimes it can be revealed only after multiple user complains by an operator. In this study a cell becomes sleeping because of a Random Access Channel (RACH) failure, which may happen due to software or hardware problems. Value Creation and Evolution of a Value Network: A Longitudinal Case Study on a Platform-as-a-Service Provider

Current research on cloud computing emphasizes the important role of Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) providers. However, little is known about how PaaS providers can offer value to the content providers and firms operating the platform. The findings demonstrate how a small PaaS provider in the cloud gaming market was able to develop a strong position in the value network by offering direct and indirect value to its partners. The findings also reveal how the firm developed its value network over fourteen years, from a complex network with several actors to a very simple value network which included only partners of prime importance. peerReviewed

Quality Management in Service Desk : How Does Service Desk Managers Define and Measure Quality

Many public and private sector organisations are depending on IT services provided by external service providers. The quality of the service affects the customer satisfaction and consequently the customer behaviour. The concept of quality has many meanings in the literature. In this paper, we study how service desk managers perceive the concept of quality and how to manage it in an organisation which has adopted ITIL. Our findings indicate that the quality is seen only in terms of how the agreed service levels are achieved. This view excludes the quality of the processes used to deliver IT services. Quality measurements are reflecting the perception of the concept of quality. peerReviewed
