Glycated albumin as a glycaemic marker in patients with advanced chronic kidney disease and anaemia: a preliminary report.

BACKGROUND: The association between glycated albumin (GA) and glycaemic status has not been fully described in patients with advanced chronic kidney disease (CKD) in relation to anaemia. The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between GA and fasting plasma glucose (FPG) and HbA1c in patients with advanced CKD and to evaluate the influence of anaemia in such relationship. The aim of the present study was to determine the time course of changes in oxidant/antioxidant status, as well as serum glucose, insulin, leptin and lipid levels, liver adipose tissue and muscle lipid and protein contents, in cafeteria-diet-fed dams during gestation and lactation, and in their offspring throughout adulthood. Food intake was also evaluated. Es wird uber die Veranderungen von Rotbarsch- und Sojaol berichtet, die bei deren Oxydation unter verschiedenen Bedingungen (hohe und niedere Temperatur, verschieden groses Luftangebot) eintreten. Eine Anzahl von Analysen oxydierter Fette wird mitgeteilt. Daran anschliesend erfolgt eine Beschreibung von bei Futterungs-und sonstigen Versuchen an Ratten und Mausen ermittelten biologischen Wirkungen solcher Fette. Weiterhin wird auf die ernahrungsphysiologischen Eigenschaften von epoxydierten Fetten eingegangen.

Tumor-Specific Blood Serum Factors as Basis of Tumor Dormancy

In the present review, we focus on the importance of blood serum factors for tumor growth in vivo. Data from mice experiments indicate the existence of serum factors, which decrease the dormancy of Ehrlich carcinoma cells from 85 to 20%. The impaired production of these factors increases the life span of tumor-bearing animals from 14 days to 120 days. Blocking the production of tumor-specific factors causes the complete regression of already developed Ehrlich carcinoma. These serum factors do not affect the malignant carcinoma cells in vitro. Haptoglobin- und Coeruloplasmin-Bestimmungen beim experimentellen Lathyrismus der Ratte

Bei Ratten wurde experimentell durch β-Aminopropionitril Lathyrismus erzeugt. Die beiden Serum-Proteine Haptoglobin und Coeruloplasmin zeigten hinsichtlich ihrer Serum-Spiegelvor undnach der Behandlung keine statistisch signifikanten Unterschiede. Die Peroxydase- und Oxydase-Aktivitat des Ratten-Serums wird demnach durch diese Behandlung nicht verandert. Da der Kohlenhydrat-Anteil des Haptoglobins aus der Grundsubstanz stammen soll, ist demnach durch β-Aminopropionitril keine Veranderung dieses Anteils festzustellen. Das in der Leber synthetisierte Coeruloplasmin erleidet ebenfalls — zumindest quantitativ — keine Veranderungen.
