A novel two-step knowledge-based exploratory framework is proposed in this paper for studying quality of Italian Mobile Telecommunication Services (MTSs). Predicting the structure and vibrational frequencies of ethylene using harmonic and anharmonic approaches at the Kohn–Sham complete basis set limit

In this work, regular convergence patterns of the structural, harmonic, and VPT2-calculated anharmonic vibrational parameters of ethylene towards the Kohn–Sham complete basis set (KS CBS) limit are demonstrated for the first time. The performance of the VPT2 scheme implemented using density functional theory (DFT-BLYP and DFT-B3LYP) in combination with two Pople basis sets (6-311++G** and 6-311++G(3df,2pd)), the polarization-consistent basis sets pc-n, aug-pc-n, and pcseg-n (n = 0, 1, 2, 3, 4), and the correlation-consistent basis sets cc-pVXZ and aug-cc-pVXZ (X = D, T, Q, 5, 6) was tested. International audience; We present a new framework for dealing with C∞-words, based on their left and right frontiers. Thisallows us to give a compact representation of them, and to describe the set of C∞-words throughan infinite directed acyclic graph G. This graph is defined by a map acting on the frontiers ofC∞-words. We show that this map can be defined recursively and with no explicit reference toC∞-words. We then show that some important conjectures on C∞-words follow from analogousstatements on the structure of the graph G.

This paper presents experimental analysis and numerical modelling aimed at improved understanding and prediction of the hydromechanical behaviour of volcanic ash at various states of saturation. Results from a comprehensive experimental programme are presented in order to characterise the response of the material in terms of matric suction and confining stress changes. The evolution of the yield stress at different suction levels has been quantified. The volumetric response with suction variations allowed the analysis of the collapse-upon-wetting behaviour. When is there more employment, with individual or collective wage bargaining?

Abstract In a standard Diamond-Mortensen-Pissarides labour market with frictions, the authors seek to determine when there is more employment with individual wage bargaining than with collective wage bargaining, using a wage equation generated by the standard total surplus sharing rule. Using a Cobb-Douglas production function, they find that if the bargaining power of the individual is high compared to the bargaining power of the union, there is more unemployment with individual wage setting and vice versa.
