In this paper I will compare A. Honneth’s neo-socialist project with J. Habermas’ proposal of a post-secular society. Since both of these approaches are aimed to contrast with neoliberal theories, I will give explanation of my preference for Habermas’. I will do that by considering the relationship between the concepts of utopia, liberty and society.

Through a brief analysis of these works I will highlight how much Dewey believed in a school that is connected to society and which places itself at its service, contributing to the birth or consolidation of a democracy understood not just as a form of government, but as a way of life. Knowledge as a fictitious commodity: a Polanyian reading of the 'digital economy'

Since the 2008 financial crisis, the attempts to use Karl Polanyi's framework to make sense of current developments have multiplied, producing a noticeable and lively debate. This debate centres on the notion of double movement put forward by the Hungarian thinker in his masterpiece – The Great Transformation. The paper is a contribution to this debate. The first part addresses a series of questions that make the interpretations of the double movement advanced so far not very compelling. To this end, a close reading of Polanyi's text, with the aim of dismantling and rearticulating its analytical structure, is carried out. In this chapter, we want to re-evaluate the heuristic role of Polanyi’s double movement by suggesting an alternative reading that could answer several criticisms that have been levelled against it. VisAdapt: A Visualization Tool to Support Climate Change Adaptation.

In this article we present the design and implementation of the web-based visualization tool VisAdapt, developed to support homeowners in the Nordic countries to assess anticipated climate change and climate related risks which are expected to negatively impact their living conditions. The tool guides the user through a three-step visual exploration process to facilitate the exploration of risks and adaptation measures, specifically adapted to the user.
