A combined interval-valued ELECTRE TRI and TOPSIS approach for solving the storage location assignment problem
2019
Abstract Efficiency and effectiveness of logistic activities, in general, and of distribution networks, in particular, are largely influenced by the way warehouses operate as nodes of these networks. In recent years, warehouse management has undergone major changes due to the increase of e-commerce and competition in time-reduction. Despite that, logistic costs of warehouse processes (e.g. receiving, storage, order picking and shipping, etc.) are still often high. Referring to the order picking process, related activities may be optimized by a proper assignment of products to storage locations. In the literature, this problem is known as Storage Location Assignment Problem (SLAP). Due to th…
Reimplantation: clinical Implications and outcome of dry storage of avulsed teeth
2010
Reimplantation refers to the insertion and temporary fixation of completely or partially avulsed teeth that have resulted from traumatic injury. Reimplantation of an avulsed tooth depends on certain clinical conditions like phy- siological status of periodontal ligament (PDL), the stage of root development and the length of extra oral time. Depending on the patient’s age, retention of the permanent incisor can maintain the aesthetic appearance, occlusal function and alveolar ridge height. Though the risk of progressive replacement resorption and subsequent tooth loss is high after a long dry storage, reimplantation makes a provision for an aesthetically acceptable permanent prosthesis at a …
Numerical Analysis of Bearing Capacity of a Ring Footing on Geogrid Reinforced Sand
2021
A ring footing is found to be of practical importance in supporting symmetrical constructions for example silos, oil storage container etc. In the present paper, numerical analysis was carried out with explicit code FLAC3D 7.0 to investigate bearing capacity of a ring footing on geogrid reinforced sand. Effects of the ratio n of its inner/outer diameter (Di/D) of a ring footing, an optimum depth to lay the geogrid layer were examined. It was found that an intersection zone was developed in soil under inner-side (aisle) of ring footing, contributing to its bearing capacity. Substantial increase of bearing capacities could be realized if ratio n of a ring footing was around 0.6. Numerical res…
State of the art thermal energy storage solutions for high performance buildings
2010
In this thesis, the general thermal energy storage solutions for high performance buildings have been comprehensively reviewed. Based on the properties of storage material, the thermal storage solutions can be classified into sensible, latent and thermochemical heat storages. Their categories, characteristics and certain applications have been systematically introduced. Special emphases are put on the latent thermal storage technologies. Different classifications of phase change materials (PCMs), i.e. organic-, inorganic-, and eutectic- PCMs, have been carefully presented with their particular features and material candidates. PCM applications can cover almost every part of the building env…
Effect of opuntia ficus-indica mucilage edible coating on quality, nutraceutical, and sensorial parameters of minimally processed cactus pear fruits
2021
Cactus pear (Opuntia ficus-indica (L.) Mill.) is a non-climacteric fruit with a relatively short postharvest life span, being very sensitive to water loss, darkening and decay. Cactus pear is a spiny fruit, and the presence of glochids limits fruit consumption and diffusion
Reducing postharvest decay in cactus pears by dip treatment with imazalil or azoxystrobin
2019
Postharvest decay in cactus pear is a minor problem in fruit marketed directly after harvest, while it may represent a major cause of losses when fruit are cold stored or subjected to cold quarantine treatments. Unfortunately, to date, no postharvest fungicide has been registered to control postharvest decay of cactus pears. Thus, the objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of two globally known fungicides, imazalil (IMZ) and azoxystrobin (AZO), registered for postharvest treatment of various fresh produce species, to control decay on cactus pears. Second-crop cactus pears ‘Gialla’ fruits were dipped in 500 mg L(‑1) IMZ or AZO and stored at 1 or 8°C and 90-95% RH for 2 or 3 wee…
Energy management of a thermally coupled fuel cell system and metal hydride tank
2019
International audience; Being produced from renewable energy, hydrogen is one of the most efficient energy carriers of the future. Using metal alloys, hydrogen can be stored and transported at a low cost, in a safe and effective manner. However, most metals react with hydrogen to form a compound called metal hydride (MH). This reaction is an exothermic process, and as a result releases heat. With sufficient heat supply, hydrogen can be released from the as-formed metal hydride. In this work, we propose an integrated power system of a proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) together with a hydride tank designed for vehicle use. We investigate different aspects for developing metal hydride…

Top quark mass measurement in radiative events at electron-positron colliders
2020
In this letter, we evaluate potential of linear $e^+e^-$ colliders to measure the top quark mass in radiative events and in a suitable short-distance scheme. We present a calculation of the differential cross section for production of a top quark pair in association with an energetic photon from initial state radiation, as a function of the invariant mass of the $t\bar{t}$ system. This {\it matched} calculation includes the QCD enhancement of the cross section around the $t\bar{t}$ production threshold and remains valid in the continuum well above the threshold. The uncertainty in the top mass determination is evaluated in realistic operating scenarios for the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC)…
743 Lysosomal Storage Disorders in Non-Immunological Hydrops Fetalis - More Common than Assumed?
2012
Background Although non immunological hydrops fetalis (NIHF) is a very rare disorder, the disturbance accounts for a disproportionate share (3%) of overall mortality in the perinatal period. Lysosomal storage disorders (LSD) are only exceptionally considered to be the cause of NIHF. The reported incidence is about 1%. On the other hand, in about 18% of all cases, NIHF is classified as idiopathic. Patients and methods We report four cases of transient NIHF due to LSD and reviewed the literature for LSD associated with NIHF. Results At present, 12 different LSD are described to be associated with NIHF. The majority of reported patients already had a family history of NIHF, which had not been …
