Elulood Läti etniliste kultuuride uurimises: liivlaste ja mustlaste lood
2014
Even though narrating is a universal phenomenon, there is no one universal narration model, much less a universal life story model. This is also verified by the life stories from various ethnic groups that have long lived among Latvians in the Latvian cultural space. Life stories play an important role in the research of ethnic history and social memory, because both Roma and Livonian cultures and their transmission between generations have traditionally been based on the oral tradition. Any attempt to reconstruct the history of these two ethnic groups is therefore encumbered as well as open to various interpretations. Life stories can likewise be interpreted in different ways. This article…
Ethnic diversity in the construction of life stories in Latvia
2017
Ethnic diversity in the construction of life stories in Latvia Latvian society is ethnically diverse and has the largest proportion of ethnic minorities of the three Baltic States. The article draws upon life-story research with respondents from Russian and Romany communities in Latvia. These communities have different social, historical and cultural experiences, thereby allowing them to be contrasted and compared. Ethnic diversity can be considered one of the benefits of Latvia’s cultural identity because it provides the opportunity not only to become acquainted with the characteristics and uniqueness of each culture but also to establish which traits unite these cultures, thereby creating…
EFFECTIVENESS OF SOCIAL STORIES IN INTERVENTION IN AUTISTIC SPECTRUM DISORDER: A REVIEW
2019
Social stories, as a technique of psychoeducational intervention, constitute a recurring element in the practice of professionals responsible for intervention with people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This work presents a review of the scientific literature of the last decade about the effectiveness of the application of social stories in the intervention in communication and social skills in people with ASD. Twenty-nine empirical studies were selected according to specific criteria, analyzed according to six categories: age of the participants, objective of the intervention, context of application, person applying the intervention, social validity, and comparison with other interven…
«LE DIPINTURE DI VITA» DI «UN AVVENTUROSO SICILIANO»:EMANUELE NAVARRO DELLA MIRAGLIA
2021

Ritorno a Palermo dopo tredici anni trascorsi in Umbria.
Pētījuma mērķis- izmantojot pieteiktos “Ainavu dārgumus” un “Foreign stories in Latvia” intervijas, raksturot Latvijas tēlu. Galvenie rezultāti- latvieša identitātes iezīmes, ainavas iezīmes. Plašākai izpētei izvēlētā Latgales plānošanas reģiona “Ainavu dārgumu” pi…

Queer Male (Post)Soviet Narratives in Interviews by Rita Ruduša and Fiktion by Klāvs Smilgzieds
2015
One culture within a culture is the culture of LGBT people in Latvia or, to use a contemporary designation, queer culture. In Latvia, queer culture is still practically invisible. In this paper I will analyse two types of queer narratives: documentary life stories collected by Rita Rudusa in her book Forced Underground (2012) and the manuscript of a collection of 12 short stories by Klāvs Smilgzieds (2014), originally published serially during the 1990s in an under ground Latvian gay magazine. Both types of texts employ different emphasis talking about queers in Soviet and post-Soviet life. Rudusa’s interviews reflect on the situation of being in the closet and on fear and loneliness, while…
Sapori e saperi irriverenti nelle novelle di Gentile Sermini
2019
Multipurpose space, the figuration of food is revealed, in various literary and pictorial works, a significant meeting point of nature and culture, real and fantastic, medium of multiple artistic projects. During the sec. XV, the thematic and symbolic correlation of food and literary figuration, between Orcagna, Burchiello, Sermini and Pulci, connotes comic languages aimed at the desecration of humanistic utopias and literary stereotypes. Sermini's novels, in the early decades of the fifteenth century, cooperated in the diffusion of irreverent and parodic languages in which anti-normative requests are lodged.
