Growth of normal diploid mammalian cells in vitro is strongly regulated by the actual cell density. Cell-cell contacts via specific plasma membrane glycoproteins whose glycan moieties interact with specific receptors has been found to be a main growth regulatory principle. Malignant growth is suggested to result from impaired function of these receptors.

The purpose of this study was to assess the effectiveness and safety of the manual subcision technique to treat dimpling from cellulite, using a specific class IIA medical device (Celluerase). Methods:. The multi-center observational study assessed 200 women treated in a single session for different dimpling, using manual subcision administered by Celluerase. The coagulation of cement particles during early age hydration has been previously identified as the first step of the setting and hardening of cement pastes. By hydrating Ca3SiO5and a silicate-rich clinker under controlled conditions, a correlation between the coagulation of the suspensions and the electrokinetic properties of particles is established. The zeta potential, and hence the surface charge, of particles in suspension depends on the calcium content of the medium. Rheological studies have been carried out on the effect of a superplasticizer from the sulphonated melamine formaldehyde (SMF) group upon the properties of fly ash suspensions containing a small quantity of mineral admixtures such as cement, lime and gypsum. The superplasticizers' efficiency has appeared to depend greatly on the admixture used. The highest liquefaction degree was found in fly ash suspensions containing both cement and gypsum together and the next it was, when only cement was added. Abstract Early C3A–CaSO4 hydration was studied in the presence of various amounts of two polycarboxylate ether superplasticizers differing in their grafting degree. Hydration and surface area developments were investigated by in-situ NMR relaxometry coupled with BET and DSC during the first 2 h after mixing. This study enables a quantitative comparison of the amount and the specific surface area of the ettringite precipitated along the C3A–CaSO4 hydration with or without PCE. The main effect of PCE is to strongly increase ettringite specific area for a variable period. AbstractAxon growth across the Drosophila midline requires Comm to downregulate Robo, the receptor for the midline repellent Slit. We show here that comm is required in neurons, not in midline cells as previously thought, and that it is expressed specifically and transiently in commissural neurons. Comm acts as a sorting receptor for Robo, diverting it from the synthetic to the late endocytic pathway. A conserved cytoplasmic LPSY motif is required for endosomal sorting of Comm in vitro and for Comm to downregulate Robo and promote midline crossing in vivo. The central nervous system (CNS) activity has been investigated by using a topological substructural molecular approach (TOPS-MODE). A discriminant analysis to classify CNS and non-CNS drugs was developed on a data set (302 compounds) of great structural variability where more than 81% (247/302) were well classified. Randic's orthogonalization procedures was carried out to allow the interpretation of the model and to avoid the collinearity among descriptors.
