The purpose of this study was to define the place of endovascular treatment in chronic intestinal ischemia (CII). We report here a series of 19 consecutive patients treated with percutaneous angioplasty of the intestinal arteries. We excluded patients with acute ischemia, from the study. From January 1, 1989 to December 31, 2001, 19 patients with symptomatic CII were treated by endovascular techniques. This study group included 11 men and 8 women with a mean age of 59 years (range 30 to 90 years). Although the mortality for gastric cancer is decreasing in Western Europe and United States, it still remains high in Eastern Europe. This study was aimed at evaluating short- and long-term results of surgical treatment of gastric cancer performed in Latvia Oncology Center.Retrospectively collected data from 461 patients who underwent gastrectomy with curative intent in Latvia Oncology Center from January 2001 to December 2005 were analyzed statistically.An average (range) of 92.2 (81-102) R0-R1 gastrectomies was performed each year. W pracy przedstawiono podsumowanie 32 miesięcy działalności Serwisu Replantacyjnego dla amputacji rąk w Polsce od stycznia 2014 roku do sierpnia 2016 roku. W analizowanym czasie zgłoszono łącznie 568 przypadków – amputacji, częściowych amputacji i innych rozległych urazów kończyn górnych, z czego zaakceptowano 354 przypadki (62%), a odrzucono 214 (38%). Wśród 354 wszystkich zaakceptowanych przypadków znalazło się 167 całkowitych amputacji (47%), 142 amputacji niecałkowitych (40%) i 45 (13%) innych ciężkich urazów, które zagrażały utratą kończyny. Objectives: The goal of the present study was to evaluate the results of applying acupuncture or occlusal decompression splints in the treatment of patients diagnosed with the temporomandibular joint pain-dysfunction syndrome. Safety of etanercept therapy in rheumatoid patients undergoing surgery: preliminary report

This is a preliminary report on a case-series of rheumatoid patients that underwent various kinds of elective surgery but did not withdraw etanercept therapy in spite of physician advise. Elective surgery consisted of right knee surgical prosthesis, bilateral cataract, bilateral hallux valgus, right hip prosthesis, bladder stone by cystoscopy and left inguinal hernia. All the patients had a regular healing rate. During follow-up (6-12 months) no one of these patients were suffering from infective complications after surgery.
