Abstract Background Schools are key settings for delivering mental illness prevention in adolescents. Data on stakeholders’ attitudes and factors relevant for the implementation of Internet-based prevention programmes are scarce. Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine the status of radiology quality improvement programs in a variety of selected nations worldwide. Methods: A survey was developed by select members of the International Economics Committee of the American College of Radiology on quality programs and was distributed to committee members. Members responded on behalf of their country. The 51-question survey asked about 12 different quality initiatives which were grouped into 4 themes: departments, users, equipment, and outcomes. Sampling in Local Tourism Quantification: Critical Issues and Field Experience

The aim of this paper is to detail some issues relating to tourist sampling by means of three case studies. Tourism quantification issues and solutions will be illustrated in three paradgmatic situations: sampling in a self-contained context with multiple access points (an Island in Aeolian archipelago), tourism in a seaside town, and nautical tourism. In these contexts the issue of building a space-time grid to circumscribe the target population is made more complex by the mobile nature of these populations.

Integrating vehicle specific power methodology and microsimulation in estimating emissions on urban roundabouts

In this study pollutant emissions were estimated from VSP modal emission rates and the distribution of time spent in each VSP mode obtained from the speed profiles both gathered in the field and simulated in AIMSUN at a sample of urban roundabouts. The versatility of the micro-simulation model for a calibration aimed at improving accuracy of emissions estimates was tested in order to ensure that second-by-second trajectories experienced in the field by a test vehicle through the sampled roundabouts properly reflected the simulated speed profiles.
