African countries' political arena is witnessing major changes due to the involvement of new political actors in the public policy making process (donors, political parties, civil society). In the past, the formulation of policies was a reflection of the central authority's will. Nowadays, governments are confronted with more resistance when adopting reforms. This paper laborates a model that describes the policy process in African countries and shows how new actors can influence the designing of the reform to their advantage. Developing inclusive pre-service and in-service teacher education : Insights from Zanzibar primary school teachers

Developing inclusive teacher education to improve learning and schooling for all children is attracting increasing interest worldwide. This study examined teachers’ insights into the development of inclusive teacher education by drawing on collaborative action research conducted by 20 primary school teachers in Zanzibar, Tanzania. Tutkimme tässä artikkelissa liikunnanopettajien puhetapoja seksuaali- ja sukupuolivähemmistöihin kuuluvista oppilaista koululiikunnassa. Aineisto koostuu kymmenen opettajan haastatteluaineistosta sekä 105 opettajan verkkokyselyaineistosta. Co-evolution between Trust in Teachers and Higher Education Enabled by ICT Advancement – A Suggestion to ICT Growing Economies

In light of the increasing significance of trust-based higher education towards digitally-rich learning environments, co-evolution dynamism between trust in teachers and higher education enabled by ICT advancement was analyzed. Using the rate of trust in teachers for good education in the Global Teacher Status Index, together with statistics on higher education level and ICT advancement, an empirical numerical analysis of 20 countries was attempted. Beliefs about teaching held by student teachers and school-based teacher educators

Teachers' beliefs about teaching goals and practices are influenced by several factors, including teaching and mentoring experiences. To identify which teaching goals and practices are preferred for the social and cognitive development of pupils, 112 student teachers and 73 school-based teacher educators were questioned.
