Finnish Classroom Teacher Students' Experiences of an Online Music Course During The COVID pandemic

When studying music, skills are often practised with a teacher, face-to-face, in a classroom. What are the experiences of classroom teacher trainees when music teaching becomes asynchronous, i.e., an individually completed online course? This question, among other things, was explored at a Finnish University's Teacher Education Department in autumn 2020, resulting in the production of a two-credit online music course on the Moodle learning environment. Raising the Profile of Sign Language Teachers in Finland

Sign language teaching in Finland has a long history. In contrast, sign language teacher training programs and research into the sign languages of Finland both know a short history. Due to this contrast, the field of sign language teaching nowadays can be seen as the ‘Wild West’. Till today, teachers from different backgrounds do teach sign language. We do not have a clear picture of what knowledge or competencies are expected from these teachers. In this article we would like to share our opinions about what the profile of a sign language teacher could look like in order to raise and advance the discussion and improve the quality of sign language teaching in Finland. nonPeerReviewed

International audience; The main objective of this study is to test the perception of the vowel /y/ among the Polish learners of FLE, as it does not exist in their natural vowel system. We defend the hypothesis that optimal perception conditions can make the identification and acquisition of new sounds more intelligible.; L'objectif principal de cette étude est de tester la perception de la voyelle /y/ chez des apprenants polonais du FLE, celle-ci n'existant pas, en effet, dans leur système vocalique naturel. Dynamics in Interaction in Bilingual Team Teaching: Examples from a Finnish Preschool Classroom

The current study aims to explore team teaching as it is manifested in bilingual interactional patterns in a preschool classroom in Finland. The data was collected in a preschool classroom where a bilingual pedagogy in Finnish (majority language) and Swedish (minority language) was implemented with monolingual Finnishspeaking children. Video recordings were made while two teachers with different predefined language roles were team teaching a class of 20 children during two circle times. Reform towards more inquiry-based approaches is already integrated in pre-service teacher education programmes. As inquiry-based approaches have been gaining momentum worldwide, there is an increasing concern that dialogic interaction in classroom communication is being neglected. Vārdu krājuma zināšanām ir svarīga loma komunikācijā svešvalodā. Šī darba mērķis ir parādīt kā izmantojot dažādas mācību metodes ir iespējams palīdzēt vidusskolēniem vārdu krājuma apgūšanā. Lai sasniegtu bakalaura darba galveno mērķi un atbildētu uz pētniecisko jautājumu par to, kura ir visefektīvākā metode jaunu vārdu krājumu mācīšanai, darbā tika veikts literatūras apskats kā teorētiskā metode un empīriskajā daļā tika veikts pētījums, kurā ietilpa stundu vadīšana, ieskaite un anketēšana.
