The Upper Tithonian–Valanginian shallow-water carbonates outcropping in the Palermo Mts (NW Sicily) consist of several facies associations reflecting different depositional environments of a carbonate rimmed shelf, pertaining to the Southern Tethyan continental margin. The reconstructed depositional model, based on the sedimentological features, cyclic facies arrangement and biota distribution, shows that a wide protected lagoon, dominated by algae, molluscs and scattered patch reefs, was bordered landward by a tidal flat, where stromatolitic algal mats were cyclically subaerial exposed, and seaward by a marine sand belt and reef complex. Abstract Objective To objectively measure and compare halo, flicker, and glare disability in pseudophakic eyes with monofocal (MONO) and multifocal (MULTI) intraocular lenses (IOLs) with respect to the influence of corneal surface quality, astigmatism, and age. This probably was the most dramatic shipwreck ever happened in the Mediterranean, and certainly the one which attracted the most media attention in Italy and elsewhere. Since at least 1992 the Mediterranean has become the unstable ground where the dominant policies of regulated mobility and discontinuous surveillance are continuously challenged by bodies which struggle for their fundamental right to move. Maģistra darbs ir uzrakstīts angļu valodā uz 59 lapaspusēm. Tas satur 24 attēlus, 3 tabulas un 85 literatūras atsauces. Pētījuma mērķis bija novērtēt miopijas kontroles ortokeratoloģijas lēcu formas un optiskās zonas platuma ietekmi uz miopijas progresijas mazināšanu. Darbā tika analizēti 12 bērnu ar augstu miopijas pakāpi ortokeratoloģijas rezultāti, iegūti kopā no 19 acīm. Tika salīdzinātas acs aksiālā garuma izmaiņas, bērniem nēsājot parastas ortokeratoloģijas lēcas un lietojot specializētās miopijas kontroles ortokeratoloģijas lēcas. Rezultāti parādīja, ka specializētās ortokerotoloģijas lēcas daudz efektīvāk samazina acs aksiālā garuma palielināšanos nekā parastās lēcas. Atslēgas vārdi…

This paper shows the data edited and acquired in June and October 2010 by surveys in Sabratha made by researchers at the University of Palermo, in collaboration whit the CNR ITABC for the PRIN 2008 Project. It consists of a preliminary study for an archaeological gis of Sabratha to promote analysis regarding the riuse of space in the Regiones III-V of Sabratha, after the destruction attribuited to the earthquake on 21th July 365.
