The translation of slang is a thorny issue for any translator. First, we define the object of study, the classic slang and the language of the trenches, to clarify the choice that pushes the authors of comics and graphic novels to privilege this language. Les raisons de ces mouvements sont nombreuses : son besoin de changer de langue pour perdre les tics acquis en anglais qu’il acquiert postérieurement en français, la relation qu’il entretient avec sa mère, la censure, le tabou sexuel et la religion trop présente à son goût en Irlande. Given the problems one finds when attempting to define the goals of translation studies (practical, normative, descriptive…), its field (literature, philosophy, religion, technical jargons…) and its claims to institutional legitimacy, the épistemological basis of translation studies seems less assured than that of linguistics. Swear words and interjections in the world of Tintin: changes, enlargement and reduction of meaning in Italian translations. Tintin is one of the best known all over the world French language comics. Even in Italy Tintin has been translated and published. Starting from a linguistic analysis on Haddock’s swearwords, one of the best friend of Tintin, we will observe the Italian translations (four editions from 1965 to 2011) of the French album Le crabe aux pinces d’or.
Le rôle de la traduction dans l’échange des connaissances psychiatriques au XIXe siècle à travers Philippe Pinel (1745-1826)

L’objet de notre étude est de situer l’œuvre de Philippe Pinel (1745-1826) : Traité médico-philosophique sur l’aliénation mentale ou la manie, publié en 1801, dans l’histoire de la psychiatrie française et espagnole. Après un rapide rappel de ce qu’était le traitement de la folie depuis l’Antiquité jusqu’au XIXe siècle pour mieux juger de l’importance de Pinel, nous analysons les répercussions de ce traité, non seulement en France mais aussi en Espagne où il fut introduit grâce à la traduction de Luis Guarnerio y Allavena, Tratado médico-filosófico de la enagenación del alma o manía, publiée en 1804.
