Il contributo mette a confronto i modeli di priduzione della voce e del linguaggio ricostruiti, rispettivamente, a partire dai tre corpora delle opere attribuite ad Ippocrate, Aristotele e Galeno. I primi due autori sono esponenti del cosiddetto 'monocentrismo biologico' (Vegetti). I modelli biologici più antiche in Grecia concetravano infatti tutte le funzioni vitali in un unico organo: il cervello (Ippocrate) o il cuore (Aristotele9: Dunque, coerentemente, in Ippocrate il cervello è l'organo in cui ha sede la vita, da cui proviene la voce e che sovraintende al pensiero. Diplomdarba autore ir izpētījusi “Quizlet” kā vārdu krājuma uzlabošanas un apguves rīku angļu valodas stundās privātajā mācību praksē. Nowadays, many people use the World Wide Web to seek medical and health information but different users, such as providers (e.g., physicians) and consumers (e.g., patients), have different needs and bring different levels of reading ability and prior knowledge. Catarratto is one of the most widely cultivated grape varieties in Sicily. It is an indigenous non-aromatic white grape variety. Despite its widespread use in winemaking, knowledge of the aroma and chemical and microbiological properties of Catarratto wines is quite limited. The influence of Metschnikowia pulcherrima combined with Saccharomyces cerevisiae on the aromatic expression of Catarratto wines was investigated with and without the addition of glutathione-rich inactivated yeast. Increasing evidence in the literature supports the usefulness of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) in studying reading processes. Two brain regions are primarily involved in phonological decoding: the left superior temporal gyrus (STG), which is associated with the auditory representation of spoken words, and the left inferior parietal lobe (IPL), which operates in phonological computation. The Effectiveness of LDOCE Definitions for Concrete and Abstract Nouns in Headword- and Picture-Identification Tasks

Abstract LDOCE uses a defining vocabulary to make their definitions intelligible to the user. Critics claim this policy may result in imprecise definitions, something especially noticeable in certain concrete and abstract words that are difficult to define by a definition only. This paper examines to what extent LDOCE definitions of such words help learners identify the objects and words being defined. In our experiment on 381 learners of English as a foreign language, three groups of participants viewed different definition types: simplified definitions of LDOCE, unsimplified definitions of MWC, and definitions written in the learners’ mother tongue (UDPL/TR).
